The email was sent to all PAL holders...
'Regardless of whether one has a registered restricted firearm, which are the only "approved" gun purchases.

What they want is for everyone to self report as to what newly prohibited firearms they have.
Hell... You could have a PAL and own zero guns and you'll get the email.
It's a fishing expedition.
 
I have a registered email with PAL , ni fan mail from Gary for me yet.
But I use a fairly strong spam filter to weed out crap , it be there .

If october nears, it will be interesting to see if guntube (CCFR, Runkle, etc) come up with best practices to save your teeth. Is the storage location of the guns registered or just the owner and they have to keep them secure? While nobody wants to be the first, the courts will be quickly plugged with people that forgot the combination to their safe or forgot to report boating accidents. If they try to enforce through force, I suspect they will quickly have tens of thousands of court cases completely plugging the system.

Every person that's not a moron knows this is a temporary *^&^stain and it will be retracted as soon as Carney is gone. No lives saved, billions spent, much hand wringing and virtue signalling. One of the most successful liberal programs of all time as it checked almost all the boxes (it misses out on greenwashing).

While I agree, Carney may be around for a lot longer than you expect.

Until the PC and NDP bring in proper and capable candidates...Carney's not going anywhere. Especially once he gets a majority with what...1 more member crossing the floor to the Libs?

Owner/owner's address is on record, assumption/requirement being the firearm(s) are stored at the same unless otherwise authorized.
If the program persists I can see the gov't throwing up their hands and saying that all those who did not comply are now in criminal possession and leave it up to police to deal with... They won't unless someone comes to their attention.
We all probably own something that's "prohibited"... That old set of lawn darts, those spikey wrist bands from the 80s when you thought you were a punk rocker, I bet some of us even have a mattress we tore the tag off of.
No one cares.

He needs two again as Freeland is gone. That is why the gun grab is happening. $1B lit on fire to keep Nathalie's vote in play. She is a one issue person. She is grossly misguided in her quest. Confidence votes are coming up soon. He's probably going to win them but it's not guaranteed. Write to your MP's and tell them what a disaster this is. If they are incompetent enough to press forward on burning $1B to save zero lives, why should we have any trust in any other program they run?

I could see many owners having multiple properties and guns move between them based on room in the safes. I have no prohib (or restricted) ownership experience so I didn't know how specific paperwork was (eg. gun lives at 3 main st and has ATT to Burlington range. Those are the only two places the gun can be).

That' not how it is, but I get where you're coming from.
They don't really issue ATTs anymore...It's just part of your lic. and good for any approved range in the province. any time.
 
How about we just hand in the receivers and tell them to stick their reimbursement up their ***. You caught me 1/2 through an AR build and all I have left was the receiver - prove me wrong
 
The wording in the letter is interesting. "You will be noncompliant with legislation". They are avoiding saying you are a criminal. Is that optics to continue the farse that this is voluntary? Do they have a legal opinion in hand that this won't survive court?

Thats my plan, if it comes down to it actuslly happening. I dont need/want the money.
They changed the compensation rate on AR receivers/frames to $550 regardless of make. So instead of the $2290 there were going to pay for my Sabre Defense lower its now $550.
I have other receivers that I paid way less than $550 for, but... its not about the money.
Its about your gov't tsking your property.
I doubt there's going to be enough $ in the program to pay everyone so there's a chance people will end up turning in their stuff and then being told.."sorry, no cash for you"
 
I’ve sent a letter to my MP ( a first for me ) . I’m sure it won’t help much be if she even reads it , not processed by one of her aids , she may be better educated on how this buy back is viewed by law abiding constituents. And better educated on where the actual gun crime is happening and by who. If all the MPs just get the briefs from parrots like Gary the chipmunk , they all just get a big glass of koolaid. It’s not much but I’m trying .
