Not cheap but good looking boots. $350 at Revzilla - who allow returns.

That's the kind of dual sport boot I wear in Aus - little taller than a regular road boot but these look like a better lug on the sole.

I have those boots. My second pair of Sidi, and they are incredibly comfortable. The latching system on those boots are very nice as well, great little system. I have not really tested these out in the rain, but my last pair of Sidi's (cant remember the model name, wayrain I think) held up great in the rain, never an issue, even in the heaviest of down pours. I do keep boot covers though, they pack small and if there is ever an issue with boots leaking, this stops it pretty quickly.

+ 1 on alpinestar webgoretex + maintenance with waterproofing wax before trips (once a year). I'm on my 2nd pair since 2006 and still waterproof feet stayed dry after 4 hrs rain yesterday from West Virginia.
The way you wear gloves/boots under/over your rain suit and feet/ arm position can let water seep in through the top. My gloves go over the waterproof inner liner of my jacket and under the outer shell (scorpion commander), wearing it on top will guarantee my hands getting wet.

I replaced my old A* Ridge with the Webgortex boot. Comfy, and really waterproof! I need a new pair as the current pair are starting to show their mileage!

I wear a set of these ( http://www.rideicon.com/products/?productGroupId=257 ) when i'm not wearing my traditional track boots. I originally purchased them so I could still have a bit of protection for short distances that involved walking. I quickly found out they were great for longer cooler rides and have been caught in a few downpours with no issues of leakage. In my opinion they are surprisingly versatile for the money and carry decent value.

They claim to be waterproof but aren't.

In Austria I waded through a stream to see if I could sagely get my Versys safely to the other side and had to abort as my toes got wet as water leaked in past the stitching I presume.

In New Brunswick they lasted half an hour before letting in the road spray and rain.

They don't breath well for hot summer rides.

The Alpine stars Web gortex are waterproof. Water that rolls down your legs has to be poured out post ride. :banghead:

The Web gortex are comfortable and make excellent spring fall boots.

I'm still searching for the perfect waterproof, breathable, riding and sight seeing boot.

Boots on feet, rain pants over the tops of the boot, boot insides stay dry.

I commute daily, and have ridden in some really heavy rain at other times too. I tend to get wet when I have to take my gear off, not while I'm wearing it!
