Just curious on how much more than market price for a bike would you guys pay if a bike had upgrades like: adjustable ohlins damper, adjustable pazzo levers, rizzoma grips and bar ends and powder coated wheels
Most times you're better off putting the stock parts back on and then selling off the upgrades separately... of course that's quite dependent on whether you kept the original parts or not!
It depends on whether or not the "upgrades" are valuable to you.
If they are, you feel a moral obligation, if they aren't you don't, unless the seller can convince you otherwise.
For someone like me, an exhaust actually lowers my price.
LOL... Awesome!$0
If anything I would pay less than market since modifications are a good indicator that the previous owner liked to ride it "spiritedly".
Please tell us why an aftermarket exhaust would de value a bike in your eyes?
It is lighter by far and flows more, how is that worse than stock?

A lot of 08-10 GSX-R's have been hacked from the cat, mostly to install the shorty Akra and M4 pipes from the 06/07's.Agreed Mina but most just use a slip on. I haven't seen many for sale that were hack jobs.

But would you think these is a reasonable price for this bike? http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...es-2003-YAMAHA-R6-like-new-W0QQAdIdZ495456064

if the bike has a oipe and still the muffler box its a win win for you. Now you just buy the mid pipe and you already have the pipeOh. Well that sucks and yes I'd avoid that too. Why would anyone hack it when you can buy mid pipes. Cheap buggers![]()
All depends on whether the particular modifications in question are worthwhile to ME. That is a personal decision that will be different for each and every buyer. Personally, I'd value the Ohlins damper, the rest of the stuff is of no value at all, and if I don't like the particular mod and the stock parts are not available, it would reduce the value of the bike. Aftermarket paint always begs the question "why", because the underlying reason is often "crash", and is one of the best ways to kill resale value.
Because it makes more noise. If you pass through Caledon or Oakville, and there will be more municipalities added through that list, any exhaust on your bike had better pass SAE J2825. Stock is virtually guaranteed to pass. Aftermarket (louder) exhaust systems might not. I prefer stock exhaust on a street bike. Stock lighting, signals, mirrors, and license plate mountings, too ... because when all relevant factors are taken into account, the stock stuff works better and is less likely to attract the wrong (cop) kind of attention.
