Looking for some info on this if anyone has can you please share?

I've checked the Aussie website and they are asking for 200bucks, my stay is only 7 days total.

Thanks

I'm scared to check New Zealand as the 200 is for Aussie only.

This is what google is saying? Not what i'm seeing on the Aussie website

Canadians traveling to Australia typically pay an AUD $20 service fee for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) app. For New Zealand, Canadians require an NZeTA costing NZD $17–$23 plus a NZD $100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). Total costs are approximately CAD $20–$30 for Australia and CAD $115–$125 for New Zealand.

watch their border security videos on YT...they are extremely tough and thorough...don't scrimp on getting the appropriate VISA, they will send you back in the blink of an eye if all your Ts and Is aren't crossed and dotted...

I imagine a lot of this is checked at the gate before boarding.

It is. We went end of 2024. It's really no big deal. We did Australia and New Zealand.
A nice thing. When you enter New Zealand, going through immigration, they have a line for citizens AND Canadians that is separate from others entering. Yup, we enter with New Zealanders. It's good to be Canadian.

How much did your visa cost?

For twenty twenty five the tourist visa went to two hundred bucks . That’s the subsection six hundred visa which is the most common . If you show up in AUS without it you’re paying five hundred bucks to apply inside AUS .
No idea what NZ costs right now .

I have no first hand experience for either country BUT my recommendation... I believe both have a consulate in Toronto, maybe worth a visit or a phone call to ask the up-to-date costs, requirements, etc. directly.

As for cost, it feels steep but at the end of the day it will be a rounding error in overall costs even with employee discounted airfares.

I know the exact costs of flights, it's all the others cost that are not accounted for yet

Been to both before visa prices went up. I'd happily go back to both and pay the higher visa prices - they are great countries to visit. But that's a long flight for 7 days of travel, so hope you are visiting other places to or from.

Hey Shane, flying into Aussie for 3 days and taking a cruise around New Zealand, coming back and spending 4 more days in Aussie before flying back home

A cruise around New Zealand? That sounds interesting and a pretty neat trip overall. Out of all the countries I've visited, New Zealand is the only one I've ever felt I could permanently move to. Have a great trip.
