Woke Tuesday feeling fine a 6 am had brekkie and by 9am was in ambo into intensive care
Been very long time since I’ve been that sick and it hit like freight train
Walked to bedroom. Could not get warm gasping for breath teeth chattering like hypothermia
Could barely get a message to partner to fetch. She arrived from dog sitting in ten min. And ambo close behind
Finally found out have blood septis
Scary shite. About as miserable as I’ve ever been
Still not out of it but out of intensive care and into regular care. Goes in and out of feeling okay then

GWS MacDoc! Glad you got the medical support to catch it and get you back on the mend.

Gws

GWS - Sounds like you need some wind therapy!

Hope you're recovering okay and that whatever caused it isn't too serious

Hang in there. Glad you are out of intensive care now (good sign) and in the regular ward to recover.

Ugh, sorry to hear.

I had a riding buddy who went septic a month or so back, long story. 3 weeks in the hospital, a week and a half of that in critical care, spinal surgery, and he's home, but still recovering. Not fun.

Thanks guys. The exact bug has been identified and treated with appropriate a/b

Main theory is via bladder infection
The urine guy expanded my uretha always an uncomfortable procedure so could have crossed there
Whatever happened they have it identified

All the best to you in your recovery.
Glad you are here to write about it.

That sucks MD. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Deep infections suck. When i had a bad ear infection, they tested me for sepsis as i was not doing well. Thankfully, just a bone infection and not sepsis nor meningitis. I think they switched my ab five times as they went with educated guesses and then culture and sensitivity results when they were available. When infectious disease specialists get involved with your treatment, it's not a good day.
