TMP Saturday Sept 28!!! WHO'S IN?!

The secret to TMP, as I first discovered on my first track day there, is to avoid weekends, unless it's really early or late season. At the weekend it's a cheap track with cheap bikes and cheap riders who don't seem to give a **** if they crash, or cause someone else to crash.

Sorry to sound all elitist, but there it is.

As funny as this is (and it IS funny)...it is also a little bit disrespectful to the people who are actually trying to improve things at TMP track days. I wouldn't be so dismissive of their efforts. Buckland is all about trying to enforce rules that will minimize two-bike incidents. When I mentioned to him on Saturday that intermediate group had been a bit crashy that day, he was quick to point out that "yes, but they were all single-bike incidents".

No disrespect meant towards Buckland and anyone else who is trying to help. Really just joking about what has happened for years there, pretty much since day one back in 2003. Part of the problem as I see it is marshaling. I don't want to generalise, but my last time there the marshal in turn 9 was rarely looking at the track. I don't know what he was doing, texting or something, but not watching the bikes. From that I figured he thought his job was to just wait for a crash before he had to do anything. This is why I said they lost their black flags.

I totally agree, and it applies to all tracks, just that TMP is the closest to Toronto so the population numbers increase the odds of weekend warriors showing up.

I've discovered the Monday of a long weekend is the deadest time. Therefore best time to go.

I don't want to waste my vacation days. And if I take a day w/o pay it becomes a $300 track day.

I understand :( I've got 20 paid vac days / yr at my current job, I can hardly keep up using them, lol... Want a couple? ;)

It is if Jamie shows up to all the Thursday ones. Which he tends to do. Zing

LOL... Stop going to TMP, it sucks anyway :p

I have 25 vacation days, which is great, and hard to give up. I've been at this job too long, but don't want to change because of reasons like that.

Cost and distance aside, how would you rate the local tracks?

From worst to best:

TMP
Grand Bend
Shannonville
Mosport
Calabogie

??

It's the most cost effective track for me to go to. Plus all my friends go there. Hooray for peer pressure!

Good photo showing the camera mount, lol :)

Replace the camera with your head, slide it to the side at that level on turns, get your *** off the seat and you may start riding faster than xtina on track

Can't argue with that (well, I can... tell your friends there are better tracks around. lol). Definitely more fun at the track with friends.

What criteria? Fun, quality of surface, quality of facilities, typical quality of riders, quality of nightlife scene after the track day?

Not likely, she has professional help ;) lol. I can't slide my butt off too much to the right because the metal rod in my left hip presses the outside thigh muscle against my suit and hurts like a mofo (the end of the rod is very sharp). I can't slide off to the left much because my knee is so screwed it can't take the weight. If I try and get off the bike more I'm done for the day after a few laps, so for me to enjoy the day, I have to sit in the middle, that's why my lean angles are so crazy if I push it :(

Have you ever thought about taking up knitting? lol

Ah that sucks, well then the position is more understandable

Ha, enough of your excuses. I know a rider with no legs that will run 2:18 at Bogie.:)
