TMP Saturday Sept 28!!! WHO'S IN?!

Just something I've noticed, every one complains about TMP. Why do the complainers go?
There are better tracks out there, but there isn't enough. I accept that EVERY track day has weekend warriors. Just by reading the stuff on this site there are a lot of "experts" putting out there "expert" opinion.
Sadly the true experts usually keep quiet.
I go knowing what type of riders go to TMP as well as all the other tracks.
Mosport I was in yellow group and I dealt with super bikers there also.
Grand bend, excluding SOAR Races they go there also.
"Super Bikers" are everywhere. We will have accept them. Because we ALL at one point started new at a track.
Some go for different reasons.
There was more Red flags at Mosport with riders choice then at TMP (self Run).
riders choice has no tolerance for "super bikers "
I'm still a nooby compared to most.
I started tracking a year ago.
For the first 6 track days, I didn't know my proper lines, I didn't understand how to turn, brake effectively. (Please note I stayed in green for a while, then went to yellow till I broke 1:22's before going to red. )
Now I just work to support Bridgestone corp. Lol.
I like racing with SOAR Because the people are fun, friendly and helpful
I go to track days knowing what is riding there. I've learned to adapt and not ride near the "super bikers"
Oh and I ride a liter bike. ;-)

Well said. Deal with it.

I did track days for 2 years before I raced for the first time.

Racing is a humbling experience. Its when you find out how slow you really are.

My 1 year of racing has made a faster rider. But I'm still slow and serve as the backmarker for others with pride.

My bike is stock except for clip ons and a different rear shock.

I lose races because I am learning, not because I don't have MR12 or a different lever.

When I started racing and was soundly beaten I at first blamed the bike. Eventually it dawned on me that it wasn't the bike but rather the rider.

When I get bored and I can't get anymore from the bike I will spend some money on it. Until then I will work on my braking, my body position etc.

In the meantime I learn, keep my money in my pocket, have fun, and try to beat people who used to beat me.

There are also other ways for people to find out they are slow. Lap timer is what does it for me.

Ya it's not quite the same. I got down to a 2:00 at Shannonville and a 1:20 at TMP then decided to see how I stacked up. I immediately dropped seconds off my time but always wanted to race on asphalt so it was a natural progression to me. Turning laps is fun for a bit but once there's a real purpose to braking that bit deeper or getting on the gas that split second sooner the real rush of riding on the track hasn't fully kicked in, and then your really hooked.

This is how I roll.

Yeah, I just picked up my new bike yesterday, just going to upgrade the basics and leave the big stuff for later.
See you next season!
