Thought bike was going to melt!!

Speaking of this. How come 250's dont have a digital display ? Theres only a temp light/oil pressure light. Isnt it to late if the temp light comes on or is it warning zone ?

My 250 has a temp gauge...a nice bonus for an older bike

Bwahahaha I had the same freakout moment when I got rained on. I started smelling burning plastic and my engine started steaming! I thought it was going to blow up, texted my mechanic, and he told me it was normal. I never had that happen to me on my 250....

My f4i gets really hot sometimes it's overbearing, but again I was told it was normal.

You can always install a manual switch.

Chances are if you ride while the bike is overheating, you will damage your motor.
Next time, pull over and wait for it to cool down.

Or just reset the trip odometer :)

Drove to the South in the US one summer. Melted my gas cap gasket.

Actually whenever it's too hot out (about 30C or higher) my bike has trouble. If I keep moving, no problem, but at rest it just heats up like bloody anything (and it's water cooled, not air cooled).

One time I was trying to get out of town and on a whim made the mistake of not taking the highway (wanted to cruise a bit). Got stuck in traffic for so long I got heat stroke! Gave up and went home (guess that's more a story about crap weather and the state of Toronto traffic though, LOL).
