The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

This needs a very specific buyer. An unmolested GL1000 with 50K or less might fetch $3200. From what I can see in the pics, this is a pretty cleanup, I'd say it's worth $1200 without the seat, $1600 wiith. It has no collector value, restoring it to original would cost $2K in parts alone. Check the right control, seat, carbs, exhaust, front fender, are swapped from other models, grab rail missing - probably means plenty of miles wore them out. The fadeout on gauges and controls show this bike has been out in the sun for a long, long time, another indicator that it was high miled or stored as dead for some time.

the fenders and grab rail were removed/changed as the originals are hideously ugly
don't see what the issue is with the gauges, that is the normal colour for them

agree this is not a collector specimen, customized bikes rarely are
but it is a well done customization - not one of the typical kijiji chop ups

value is to the beholder, sure it's a little much at 3,200
but there is a market for classic Wing street rods

btw, I've had a conversation with the seller
this was not a quick cleanup to sell
he imported a low mile bike from Ohio several years ago
then did/had the restoration/customization done
any discoloration you might be looking at is from it's time in Ohio
it's been well loved here, if I had the room it would already be with me

Good price, especially from a dealer.

That's priced really well. I was considering the Triumph Speedmaster, and it was on my short list. But when I was looking, the ones available were all priced above $5500. I really didn't want to pay that much $$, and also it had a chain drive (and I was really looking for a shaft/belt for lesser maintenance).

I ended up buying a 2011 Vulcan 900 Classic, but would have been really tempted to pick up this one because of it's pricing.

I play with these old girls, that one looks to me like a cleanup -- big difference between a cleanup, restoration, and a street rod (restomod). Seen enough of these to know the story - needed carbs and didn't run. Left outside for a few years which faded gauges, paint, controls and seat an rusted out OE exhaust and chrome. Sold as a project when owner realized repairing the bike wasn't worth the money. Cheapest cleanup was a Corbin seat, GL1100 carbs and exhaust. Result looks pretty, harder to maintain and slightly downgraded performance.

Will it get looks and be fun around town? Yes. Valuable or collectable? No.

Nice clean survivor and likely an easy fix.

Except that is actually worth something. The Honda owner will need to pay someone to take the 450 away.

Now that is a classic...that was the first bike i rode on the street when i was 12...a bit different..it was a 68 SS350 sprint
