They put them up on a road that runs next to my complex. It's a good choice for me to use when coming back from a local mall, because it means I can make a right to get to my home instead of a left. A 40 Kmh limit. I found out the hard way, that they had installed speed bumps, when doing exactly what I outlined. This street is 2 lane and generally has cars parked along both sides. The signs and speed bumps were both occluded by parked cars until I was around a corner, where the first set were. I caught air.
 
cp24 reported driver allegedly pointed a gun at someone before this interaction. If there was an officer behind the car could have easily been ran over and killed.

So the guy driving that (allegedly) pointed a gun at someone minutes prior was in fact driving the rest of the people in the car to choir practice?

A rather famous Canadian that got cancelled for speaking his mind use to frequently say something about running with bulls.

Guilty until proven innocent. Cops should all be Judge Dredd - judge, jury, and executioner. We should just get rid of civil rights like the Nazis did.

Cool. Let's just stand back and let carloads of gun toting thugs (and thugettes) roam the streets with impunity, knowing that if they do something to endanger innocent people they won't spend more that a few hours detained before they're bailed out. Elbows Up!

The driver was the only one accused of a crime, so why would you automatically assume the rest of the passengers were knowingly involved? How ouwld you like to be accused of something you were innocent of? Sure you can win in trial, but that take time and money.

Charging the passengers and having them spend time and money fighting their case would discourage them from accepting rides from people they don't know and trust. The punk drivers would soon lose friends and peer pressure is a deterrent. I vaguely remember a found-in law but I'm not how it was applied.

You can't always vet friends of friends. When I was in school I was always a passenger in some stranger's car, but someone I knew may have known them. Back then, we never thought to ask "are you a criminal?", as that would be a sure way to end up walking.

And THAT is why we have a glut of repeat offenders running around on bail committing new crimes. The probability that (if they weren't armed themselves) they damn well knew their buddy was armed is hovering around 99.∞%........unless you want to now theorize guess that perhaps he was their Uber driver?
 
I'm going to the Hawk Rally with a fellow GTAM Hawk owner I've only met once for a few minutes at a BurgeRR night. @ljtenkor it would appear that I need to ask you if you're a criminal, or if you're strapped. You can reply via PM so as not to incriminate yourself publically. :rolleyes:
I did think to confirm he had no issues crossing the border recently, but figured that was enough.

Good thing nothing happened during my recent Gap trip, since I didn't ask any of those guys I just met.

I'll speak to the leaders of the Thursday night ride to make sure we ask everyone before heading out.

BurgeRR night too - wouldn't want to be sitting next to one.

And that's just GTAM. Without this context, everyone else will be looking at me funny when I ask, but it makes sense to ensure I'm not in the company of criminals. I just hope the criminals answer honestly when I ask.
