Re: Honda CRV hits rider

Those screens are intended for use in viewing the recording while at a stop. Yes, they are illegal to have running when you're in a moving vehicle.

Saw a good meme recently: "To the people who type in all lowercase; it's the difference between helping your uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse."
heh, whatever turns your crank

Throw him down the stairs. His shoes. Punctuation and capitalization counts, as well!

Sorry. Who was texting? I saw someone pull into passing lane and slow down. Was it them? Poor lane choice - the bane of our getting from point A to point B.

90% certain, that the camera vehicle ran the red as well, since they appear to have stopped past the bar.

Hard to say that, with certainty, with a camera angle that wide. It is very common, though, and people don't seem to understand that is actually a failure to stop.

The cam biker isn't doing anything illegal herself,...

By participating in a 'joint venture' - even though you may not be doing anything illegal yourself, if one of your party does, then you may also be held liable for whatever results. Two deaths in the below case.

Mallory vs Werkmann Estate:
[1] On February 6, 2005, Robert Mallory’s car was struck by an out-of-control motorcycle. Mallory was severely injured and both the motorcyclist and Mallory’s passenger were killed. The appellant, Istivan Mihali was held partly liable on the basis of his participation in a joint venture with the motorcyclist who caused the collision.

That case example includes participation in an illegal activity and action during the ride which resulted in the collision. That's not the case as per Fastar1's point. It isn't an equivalent comparison.

All kinds of stupid in that one, there was still a person in the crosswalk when the left turner went, and I would hope a Camaro could hold its lane during that slow of a turn
