The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

So this happened today on Guelph line just south of Derry. It's a 50 zone and there are always cops doing radar. I was going about 60. She was riding my *** for about 2 klm then decided to pass on a double yellow line. I caught up to her about 5 minutes later when she was waiting to turn on Dundas.

Passing on a double yellow line in Ontario is legal, unless there is a sign stating otherwise.

There is a sign saying no passing when the speed limit drops down to 50. Like I said "no passing zone".

New sign? I've never seen it before.. Not present on street view..

If I ride through Lowville next weekend and it's not there can we post YOUR plate number?

Lol, speaking of being whiny.. If you don't like the community, leave. You don't have to announce that you're leaving cause you're mad and want attention..

As for keyboard warriors..... You're on the internet, on a public forum......

Edit: Also, not a surprise that you returned to the forum the day after you posted this.

Talking of bad drivers and cops, spotted the paid duty officers at university and front street watch cars and pedestrians go against the lights in front of them.. Cops just standing there like statues that they are.

Was ticketing people part of the paid duty, or are they supposed to ignore the job they're being paid for to do something else?

err, you're joking right? Police officers are supposed to uphold law. Doesnt matter if they are watching traffic or directing traffic. if you were not aware of the program, here are the details: http://www.metronews.ca/news/toronto/2016/06/06/toronto-police-pilot-project-intersections.html
Yeah, but if it's a paid duty officer for a construction site, or stopping traffic to let the WSIB people out, then it makes no sense. Also, there are so many violations in Toronto, that they might be waiting for the more egregious offenses.

here's what happened...

lights change green, pedestrian walks against their light, car nearly hits pedestrian, driver looks at cop standing at roadside with hands on hips, cop looks back, driver shakes his head, I laugh.

And this morning they're up in arms about the 20 or so incidents with pedestrians and cyclists in 24hr period.

Btw.. no new videos for the past few days here?

What was the time? No stopping zone?

What was the time? No stopping zone?

Cabbie was trying to pick up the elderly people with walkers. Does time matter when a ****** cyclist starts squeezing through and hitting the cab? They probably would have pulled that even if he was trying to turn right.

Guess cabbie should have flipped the couple off and not picked up a fare.

Edit: Holy crap, I just said a cab was in the right. :help:

It's not up to the cyclists to determine whether he can stop or not. If it was an emergency, he could stop. There is no bicycle lane, and he was far enough ahead to safely move over.He signalled his intention, giving ample notice for the first cyclist to go around. Instead, like so many, they pass a vehicle while the signal is flashing - playing the martyr so they can get to work/home and complain again about people trying to kill them.
