The OEM type chain guard is not required.

Re frekeyguy ... For drag racing, you need a chain guard (and that seems to be the only thing Cayuga's tech guy looks for). Roadracing - not the OEM type, but you need the "shark fin" chain guard underneath the swingarm. Track days - normally, neither.

Drag racers like chain guards no idea why? All they do is keep lube from spraying off. At SOAR sharkfins are required cant speak for the rest I have never been asked to put on a chain gaurd but best to ask whichever organizer your working with.
