Suzuki 407 & Yonge Store closed down

I thought I was seeing things last week when I drove by the dealership after work and noticed the whole place has lights off, at 5pm... I tried getting to their website, its gone.. I called their number, it forwards straight to Suzuki of Newmarket.

It looks like the store has definitely shut down, what a shame... Made getting parts and service super easy if your in the Thornhill/Richmond hill area. The real problem now is of course its a pain in the butt to order parts, which I assume now have to be at Suzuki of Newmarket (Reviews on this site show less then stellar reviews for their service/parts department)

I usually do my own services like oil changes and such, but for certain things that I am not familiar with like working with the brakes and other technical work, where is the next best option for servicing my bike? I have a Suzuki M109R. I would rather not go to Suzuki of Newmarket but would appreciate any tips from other members here who may get their bike services close by in the Richmond Hill / Thornhill area done by a really good, knowledgeable tech if needed..

Thanks guys

Buy a different brand. And you are welcome:-)

I have been eyeing a certain Triumph Rocket III Roadster but again, I have no idea where to get that bike serviced except for all the way in Pickering or in Woodbridge! Although who knows, it could be an easy bike to do maintenance on... doing my research!

Wow what the **** are you serious? I used to buy my parts from there all the time.

I think Snow City by Kennedy and 401 sells OEM Suzuki stuff?

Funny......I went there a week ago to pick up a crush washer for my end of season oil change. I had a thought that something was up due to how empty the lot was and how quiet things seemed. I guess the fact that the parts guy gave me the washer instead of charging for it should have raised a flag.

They do, and their parts finder makes it really easy to order online.

I'm gonna miss that parts guy, he made fun of me for the two R emblems I got due to their price and asked me if I wanted a 3rd one in case I ****ed up putting them on lol

Yeah I will miss the folks there, the parts guy survived the last owners and he was funny and hard to understand at the same time, but a good guy and always came through with parts orders...

I wonder whats going to fill the space now.. used to be a Chrysler dealership before it became Hillcrest Suzuki. I can only hope another motorcycle store! That would be fantastic.

Damn, that place was convenient for parts for me. I even had a fork seal replaced there last summer; good quick service, I think they were impressed that I brought just the leaky fork leg in.

The Japanese parts guy knew his stuff.

Another one bites the dust.

Not the sales people, I won't miss them. One guy in particular was ol' school tactics. Hard sell, he was on top of you, answered questions with misleading information (there was a manufacture rebate that he did not know about or wanted to hide), etc.

Still... Too bad they closed.

For service, you could still check out Keith, but I figure that he is far from where you are... and he knows all Suzuki's and the M109 very well.

I thought they had shut down a while ago.
They told me about two months ago they were closing and shortly after that the calls were getting forwarded to Newmarket.

Danny the parts guy was the best in the business.
He would pull all sorts of miracles to get us backordered parts for some of our race builds the same day!
To this day I have no idea how he used to do this, but there have been more than a couple times he sorted us out huge for a race weekend.

He also used to get a kick out of the fact that we would be ordering major engine internals for 2013 model gsxrs and always asked what we were doing. When I last talked to him he said that he would probably be getting transferred to Newmarket. Hopefully they know and value what they've got!

Sad but far from surprised. I've only been in the store a few times and every time I've been the only person there.

I know it caters to a completely different crowd but I wonder if the HD dealership across the street has anything to do with it...

I doubt it.
You had car guys trying to sell bikes and make huge mark ups.
They failed to understand that bikers are a different type of customer and the car sales tactics don't work.
They are selling a dream and a lifestyle not a utility.
Every step of that process has to be fun and memorable for the customer.

The industry created this mess when Honda pulled the stunt by removing their bikes to sell at their Honda Powerhouses...which was a giant flop.
