Brand new Monster 797 vs SV650A:Or is it a Smart mans Ducati Monster?
Both have non-adjustable suspension, roughly the same HP, ABS, trellis frames. You can get both with the colour red on them somewhere.
Monster 797 MSRP: $10595
SV650A MSRP: $8399

After riding for 40 years I figured out SEXY bikes are beneficial if you’re looking for co-riders into “Property Of” or “Village People” tee shirts.going to guess the duc probably has better suspension and brakes, and looks so sexy

2006 SV650s $5000. Don’t see the value for that price.

I used to see this SV when I worked downtown near Kensington market. So poorly kept, same goes for so many bikes that show up here- I'd go back to my SV after work, and till the day I sold it, it looked just like it came out of the Suzuki dealership.
Walking DT, i'd see so many neglected bikes people had, rusted chains, finished brakes, and by far the most, useless tires with no tread left. If people can't afford a set of $40 brake pads, why get into motorcycles to begin with. On the opposite end, like the CB750, people go and destroy a bike.
I guess only the odd ones had their triple trees slide part way down the stanchion tubes

look at his stanchion tubes sticking out of the top of the top yoke. Not a problem a pair of Ohlins dampers, one on each side, won't solve.

and lack of front suspension travel.

no bumps where you live, sweet! but boring. My sarcasm font is offline.
Then again, my forks are raised in the triple clamps an inch and a half just like that.![]()
Good time to trade your motorcycle for a snowmobile, we might get enough snow
for a few weeks.
I'm sure you realize that raising the forks in the triples may affect handling but does not impact length of travel at all right.no bumps where you live, sweet! but boring.
Its all fun and games until the forks bottom and plant the front wheel/fender through the front of the radiator.I'm sure you realize that raising the forks in the triples may affect handling but does not impact length of travel at all right.
Well I'm assuming that if you're raising the forks you are aware of the maximum travel and minimum clearance requirements. Its all fun and games until the forks bottom and plant the front wheel/fender through the front of the radiator.
You know what happens every time you assume....?Well I'm assuming that if you're raising the forks you are aware of the maximum travel and minimum clearance requirements.
If the front fender and wheel can contact the radiator you've done it wrong lol.
True enough. Fortunately I'm the only one who ever touches my bikes, and at 6 foot I've never lowered a bike. You know what happens every time you assume....?
