I never noticed until i got my bike that lights at most intersections only trip when cars are parked at them. There is this one light i have to pass through every day going east on the way to work and it's a 4 way, but the traffic going east-west is very light so sometimes you can sit there for 5 minutes or longer until a car comes along and the damn thing trips to start the countdown.
The thing that really cheeses me is sometimes you get a teaser, where a care comes and stops at the red with me for a second but then turns right, making the light trip, and countdown.. but then just as it should stop the traffic going the other way it resets and goes green again. Such a piss off! and if i go another route so that i end up coming north on the other street to make a right instead it's like 10 minutes longer that way because i have to go away out of the way to catch that road.
So does anyone know the magical weight number that it takes to trip the lights? me and my 750 bike = about 770lbs.. maybe i should move up to an 1100cc and start eating more donuts? would that do it?
Ps: i did search this topic and didn't see anything, but probably missed it. apologies if it was brought up before as i'm sure it has been, just venting.
