Social distancing with a passenger?

Yeah, bylaws can be enacted alot quicker, practically write it on a napkin and have a quick council vote. That's why they're usually pretty stupid. They still would infringe on rights. Closing properties and issuing trespass fines is no fuss no muss. Easy money without the court tossing the tickets.

I have been getting texts from my daughters to get out of the house and ride. It's hard to do that.I have to leave my wife alone.I am her psw 24/7.

Damn, that's fancy. It reminds me of this beauty that is flown by Dave Hadfield. There is a cabin separate from the cockpit. Basically a flying limo.

I dont like total deaths as I have no idea of relative populations. Comparing deaths per million is a more useful metric.
I agree, so I did a quick check and Sweden is approximately twice the population of it's neighbors. 10.2 mill, vs about 5.5 mill each for the other three.

Ask and ye shall receive.

By pretty much any metric you look at things their "wonderful" approach of just ignoring things and hoping it all works out isn't working.

Worse yet, with their growing numbers (see last graph) their DPM is going to continue to rise as more and more infected people keep spreading.

I'd put $20 on the chance they have a change of heart in the weeks ahead and end up in lockdown like the rest of the world. They do seem to be just putting off the inevitable.

The only mitigating factor with Sweden is (I hope) they have a better health care system. It could be worse.

If last Saturday was an indication, I'm expecting an absolute shitshow (specific scientific term) of people outside this weekend.

The US did come out and state that the sunlight (UV) brings the half life of the virus to 90 secs (they didn't release the study yet). While the lords of our jurisdiction is asking for full compliance with the rules. Let's see...

Tory is probably jumping for joy that he was able to lock down high park due to cherry blossoms. The staff it takes to patrol 400 acres of knobs would be incredible. Now they just need to do a bit of enforcement at the perimeter fence and it frees up night sticks and tasers for the waterfront.

Nude rides? NATGAT.

Seriously, can you imagine?

BC's top doc has advised them to go outside and be reasonable. I hope they treat us like adults here a bit.

If there's another way, I don't want to know about it. :ROFLMAO:?

Sweden and its neighbors (Norway, Finland, Denmark) are very comparable to each other in every way except that Sweden didn't do the lockdown approach, and its neighbors did.

Speaking of Sweden ...

On the news today, they were talking about a festival of some sort that normally happens this weekend, and with no lockdown, the concern was how to get people to not gather together in a certain park.

Their solution: truck in several tons of chicken manure ...

Another Trump branded product to the rescue.

Albert believes that Sweden's healthcare system is coping, as does Peter Lindgren, managing director at the Swedish Institute for Health Economics (IHE). Lindgren told CNN that the number of people treated in intensive care units over several weeks had been stable, "so in that aspect it has to be successful."
But he added: "What it failed at, I think, is that there has been disease transmitted into elderly care facilities. We have deaths occurring as a consequence of that."
Hallengren, the Swedish health minister, told CNN: "One of the main concerns now in Sweden is to strengthen the protection for those living in care homes for older people."
"

What this tells me is that the catchall policy is unnecessary and we can look at a more surgical approach and put the maximum amount of effort and resources to the significant contributor of the numbers (old age homes). This is the approach that we also needed to take in Ontario where more than half of our deaths are from Senior care and how the administrators handled that is completely unreasonable.

What's the point of having damn specialists if they can't provide a clear and data/fact based solution and approach instead of the knee jerk "shut it all down" that anyone with half a brain can come up with. Clearly shows me that these rigid systems in place is clearly outmatched for a pivot and nimble world we live in.

Bear in mind that when this pandemic started spreading, nobody knew what it was going to do or how, or how fast, or much of anything about it. People just started showing up sick, and in retrospect, some "flu" deaths in January may have actually been coronavirus.

About as many deaths as the seasonal flu, or less.

The guy formerly known as Mladin.

That is an extremely misleading statement. (You are either being misleading, or have been misled, or are choosing to be misled.)

This is a few days old - it's worse now. Coronavirus is the leading cause of death, on a weekly basis, in the USA, and this chart shows how that situation developed. And this is only the known, documented deaths from coronavirus. The real number is higher.

I think it's time we start talking about who's going to headline Covidfest. We can't get ACDC for this one, probably not the stones either. Hopefully Iron Maiden?
