RIP Ozzy

RIP.

Blizzard of Ozz was the first album I bought with my own money after my mom took one look at the cover art and said, "I'm not buying that for you! If you really want it, you can save up and buy it for yourself!"

So glad I purchased it, it introduced me to Randy Rhoads who was an absolute maestro and taken from us waaay too early.

I'd like to think the two of them are once again rocking out together somewhere at the Great Concert in the sky.

damn......

A neighbour went to the final show in Birmingham, said it was incredible. He also said Ozzy was fighting tears through a lot of it. Definitely someone who lived for being in stage, and was born to do it.

I saw him twice with Sabbath on their last two tours (the 13 and The End tours), and even though he was obviously aging and stooped, he was still just as magnetic as ever and you couldn't take your eyes off him. He also faded a bit after an hour and twenty plus of performing, and weirdly that made it more impressive because you knew he wasn't using any technical trickery up to that point.

For me personally, I much prefer the Sabbath stuff because I love Iommi as the greatest riff guitarist that ever was. But the Ozzy Sabbath also dwarfs the Dio Sabbath in my heart.

When Masters of Reality came out, rumour was, if you layed on your back on the floor, and placed one speaker beside your head to the left, ditto to the right, and placed the album cover on the speakers, facing you, and cranked it up.....God would appear.
After too many attempts, all I saw was an ear specialist.
Thanks Ozzy,
RIP.

I was surprised when I heard the news. Glad he had the chance to have a final concert.
I can still remember the first time I heard crazy train, what a experience it was.

I was never a metal / dark rock fan but his stage presence was undeniable.
He was a complete mess until you put a mic in his hand .

Actually it’s been said that he was two different people,

When the camera was on he would be a stumbling mess as ozzy.

When camera was off he was clear spoken and not stumbling John

I remember picking up a game called Brutal Legend. Totally blind playthrough, knew nothing.

Probably the best soundtrack in any video game.

Do some stuff and pull into a cut scene...... WTF is Ozzy doing here.... LOL

RIP Ozzy.
