Removing oil n grease from fairing fender

Changed steering head bearings and now i got grease stains on my fairing but more so on my front fender. Its like its embedded itself in the paint and dried off :)

I tried wd40 and goo gone but it wont come off

Any tips on how to get this off?

Thanks!

goo gone should work... just leave it on for 2 min and wipe with microfibre cloth

What kind of grease did you use? Some lubricants are slightly corrosive and will stain certain paints or finishes if left on for enough time....

No idea of the grease brand. Its just that standard balll bearing grease that looks like vasoline! But my guess is that what you said might be right. However i will try the kerosene tonight

I use WD40 to dissolve and wipe away the grease on my bike. Nothing dissolves oil like oil. And there's no risk of damage to other parts of your bike.

Kerosene can be bought in the camping section at Canadian Tire in a litre size white plastic bottle for a couple bucks.
It will remove wax also but does not damage paint. The chain cleaners that are sold at the bike shops are simply keosene in an aerosol can.

Good luck.

Grease normally does not stain the fender/bodywork unless you have non-normal bearing grease.
