Watched Spider-Man Brand New Day... it was just ok. A bit overrated. Jon as the Punisher and Spiderman's interaction probably were the best parts. They did well with multiple high profile characters not mucking up the story, but the plot overall was pretty weak, kind felt unresolved. I thought a couple of things might happened near then end like Professor X showing up, or Jean unlocking MJ's memory of Peter... I guess that is for the next movie.
Strangely enough I also recently watched Spiderman 2 with Toby, I think they are still better movies. Rami is just an amazing director, and I felt more connected to the characters and invested with the story which had a better arc to it.
