If you're Canadian you gotta watch "Going' Down the Road" at least seven times in your life.

Second would be "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz"
“Goin’ Down The Road” is how I remember Toronto as a kid in the late sixties/early seventies. Great movie , I love the scene where they walk by the used car lot and there’s a hemi Roadrunner for sale and I have see Goin’ Down The Road at least seven times. Oddly, I always thought of it being a funny movie but the last time I watched it I almost cried at the end, it’s really quite a sad ending.

As a Maritimer, who came to Toronto in '72, it always hits home.

Likely not the best choice for a late night watch but it has been too long.
He learned to play the piano for this role.. 4 hours a day every day in practice.

Brody won best actor for this tough role - lost 39 lb on his already slight frame and had PTSD as a result.
There is an uplift at the end of the film where we find out what happened the real life pianist.
Excellent tho heart rending film....on to the Brutalist which Brody also won an Oscar for.

almost feels like a reprise of The Pianist
quite an emotional double feature

Echoes of Ayn Rand and Frank Lloyd Wright for sure and the correct era too.

Funny how you can make a great movie that stands the test of time like Goin’ Down The Road on a shoe string budget and then there’s this movie. Someone thought it would be a good idea to throw truckloads of money at a bunch of coked out rock stars to be in a movie and it would be some kind of masterpiece. I tried to watch it and found it totally dated, not even Ann Margret could save this movie. Sorry Who fans.

For something lighter
I do like the lead - she is an amazing dynamo and while I did not get into Stranger Things she has been been impressive in the Enola Holmes series....and her CV.
Good so far 🍿 just dropped on Netflix
A very woke Zorro with a cute lead. Worth the watch ....soppy kisses n all :sneaky: (y)

good reviews - not based on a true story but lots of research on conditions etc
It is very well dubbed

Bit strange in the end. 🤷‍♂️ Was worth the watch tho.
It was dubbed when I watched on the big TV but not dubbed when I watched the remainder on the computer....that I cannot explain.

Watched Masters of the Universe - it's bad, but not the kind of bad you stop watching after 10 mins.

The casting was right, but the script was horrible. You could feel the actors did their best with the lines, some of it very cringe. The tone was all over the place, and I have no idea what Skeletor's motives were.

They could have done a lot more with this with some easy enough tweaks.
It's like Hollywood doesn't have any writers these days.
