Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Casting looks okay tho not sure on Hermione ...she's a VERY tough act to follow.
🍿
The new Harry is already appealing.

Saw this recently on St. Patrick’s Day. My step kids and I try to watch an Irish themed movie every year and I suggested this. Great performances and has really stood up well after over thirty years.Definitely worth a second watch even if you saw it all those years ago. Famous for it’s “big reveal” but there’s far more to this movie than just that.

Love the sound track as well as the movie. Good reminder.

recall being blown away by Remi's performance. Apparently wearing the teeth was a chore
Good way to drown out the leafblower.
Really enjoyed it the second time around and picked up a few cast I'd missed.

Puts my whingeing at aches and pains at 78 in perspective. :sneaky:
I'm amazed at the detailed recall some of those interviewed 80+ years on
You might feel your mortality creeping....

One of my fav movies and Reese is someone I've followed since she was a teen.
Very talented and attractive
She won an Oscar for this and she and Joaquin sang all the songs.
What a fine movie ...been long enough forgot how it played out and Reese just gorgeous - well deserved Oscar.

She blew me away in Freeway where she easily held her own against Keifer Sutherland
If you’ve not seen it - try and find it.

Staying in the music bios genre....this was not perfect but enjoyed it and learned a fair bit.
That it was produced by Elton goes a long way ....

The actor that played him as a kid was perfect.... 🕶️

Segue to this
two part version
I did not realize what a phenom she was. Well done and engaging. √
Only recall some of her songs.
The sound of currawongs in part two .....
one of the things I love here....in our backyard and just about everywhere....
...
The actress playing Newton-John
looks nothing like NJ but she reminds me of Keira Knightly big time.
Mouthful of glowing teeth and just some of the mannerism. Delta Goodrem has a hell of a voice.

Been wanting to see this and like Chalamet

used to play table tennis at college level ...was embarrassed when the Jr Champion of India and the City Champion of Hong Kong showed up in a demo tour. ,....
Whole other level than me ....they were very gracious in their overwhelming victory.

Marty Supreme movie: Is the new Timothée Chalamet sports ...
Yes, Timothée Chalamet prominently plays table tennis in the movie Marty Supreme, where he stars as a fictionalized version of real-life 20th-century ping-pong star Marty Reisman. [1, 2, 3]
He trained with a coach for several years to master the specific, hard-bat table tennis style from the 1940s and 1950s. His dedication was intense—he even traveled with his own ping-pong tables to the sets of Dune and Wonka so he could practice between takes. While the very fast ball trajectories in the film's intense match rallies utilized CGI and choreography, Chalamet performed the physical gameplay and stance himself to make it look authentic to fans of the sport

I really liked her as Ellen
Not so sure as Eliot.
Followed them early on.
Ellen phase sooooo cute.
Loved her in other movies and the series about pandemic in Toronto....ReGenesis <<< highly recommended and Juno which earned her and Oscar nomination.
Terrific in Hardy Candy too.
Big career

Well now I can't recall if I watched the movie earlier or read the book first but ...repeat is just fine. Really well cast and the author is an experienced surfer so writing from the heart.
Growing up on Lake Erie was not a surfers paradise but I almost got myself killed dodging a whitewater kayak coming at my chest with a 200 lb paddler on board a 2m wave. The west end of Lake Ontario could get some big swells with an east blow.
We made some traffic rules after that. He thought he killed me and I rolled just as he arrived....can still hear that damn kayak thundering over the bottom of mine.
