RCMP and our laws are f'ed up

Here's another F'ed up situation.

Group from Brampton comes up to Mactier with 10+ rifles and starts shooting them off and at a bridge and surrounding trails.

There's some more videos circulating in the comments section of local FB groups showing all the damage done and screen recordings of the groups IG stories showing a table set up full of guns and all of them shooting.

There is a short clip at the end of this write up.

People from this group will visit "gun shows" aka gun flea markets and buy rifles from people that do not check PAL licences and sell ammo also. They will also buy a rifle for a friend on thier PAL . I have watched these transactions in person. Not all vendors will do this , but some do not have the ability to log onto the RCMP website from a table in the County fair building.
As a legal gun owner , I find this infuriating since this sort of things builds support for the "take all the guns away" groups.
Eventually one of these idiots will get onto a Muskoka postal code property and the billionaires will call in the authorities that will sort this out.

Why the hell isnt RCMP all over this? There are license plates visible. Faces visible. And guys in their cars driving with high powered rifles in clear view…

Effing hell…

It’s like in their home videos where people just shooting off for kicks…

🤦🏻‍♂️

One of the most recent shyt-show ones I've seen recently was the one downtown TO where a full on gun battle broke out at a recording studio (the dis track was lit?). Multiple shots fired from numerous suspects, no one was hit.

Always wondered how the secondary market worked...if I understand correctly each needs to be registered with the RCMP.

Does that mean they just leave it to the buyer to register it as a matter of 'good faith' principle? Or does the original owner keep being the registered owner when it exchanges hands?

Its so silly its sad, a gun like a 308 bolt action rifle isnt a "registered" gun . Those are things like handguns or automatics , the restricted guns. If I sell a gun to you and you hold a PAL licence , the RCMP attach a transaction number that says PxxxFxxx sold a gun to WxxxPxxx , it does not have a serial number or what gun it was. That will appear (or should) on the bill of sale I give you , and keep a copy for me.
Now if your at a gun show in Podunk, they may say , well its sunday and I cant get internet here , you have a PAL right? and you say sure, and they never even ask to see it. And the exchange is never recorded.

What scares me most about guys shooting in the air because thats how they celebrate, a .22 shot can come down half a mile away, a .303 could travel a trajectory of a mile or more . Wheres that shot landing?

Just goes to show the Liberal buy back program is woefully misguided...but it's an easy sell to the general population.

Wow...

How often are these gun shows taking place? I ask because my buddy got his license and is looking to buy a used gun but it's his first go. I didn't sign up yet, so I'm a bit behind.

Lots of gun stores have consignment sales. Have a look at SFRC online in the used section for instance. They will often be at a higher price than a private sale but it's also way less sketchy (I sold a gun in a parking lot, legally with all the i's dotted and t's crossed with PAL checked etc, but it still felt super sketchy) and there's a chance you'll probably get a discount on accessories/ammo.

Guns shows happen monthly ( or more ) around the province . Gun Shows Canada is the website with calendar.
