problem after cutting my throttle tube

my throttle tube was 1/8" too long, so i just used the dremmel to shave it off while it was on the handle bar.

now the throttle is slow to snap back,

any ideas?
Make sure the bar end isn't too tight as this can stop it from freely moving. Also check if you left any burrs on the cut part that might interfere too. Lube your cables too.

After reading many of Jamie's posts I don't get why so many members talk shmack and give him no respect.Yes he is enthusiastic and is quite pumped about riding just like most of us are.He offers his advice and help freely to all the newer riders and has much to offer this forum.I do not know him personally and have never ridden with him but dude you are alright in my books
Eager to give advice that may not be correct all the time.

yup, new riders love going on rides with him, right into guard rails.

jaimie whats your take on that 1" crack on my throttle tube. is that cool or no?
Your throttle is kinda important. How'd the crack get there? If it just formed from use, you can be sure it'll grow! I would order a new throttle tube if I was in your shoes.

no i pushed a small flat head between the tube and the handle bar to see if anything was jammed and cracked it :-)

It's up to you then man. If you think it'll be an issue, replace it. If you don't think it'll get worse and it doesn't grab causing the grip to turn "sticky" then I wouldn't worry about it.

Agreed.

If you're going to continue to use it, then at least drill a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it from spreading.

Ahhhh, "stop drilling", nice. Saw that on Mayday once, didn't stop the crack from spreading and the entire wing from detaching (had a major structural problem, cracked Z stringer, stop drilling couldn't have fixed it) :)

Didn't know it was for plastic, just thought it was for metal :)

I had the similar issue with my throttle tube on my dirt bike last year, In your case it's most likely that you either warped it the slighest or a small amount of debris has gotten stuck inside. Try spaying WD-40 or chain lube, could solve the issue.

I think it would be safer for everyone if you sell your bike.
How lazy and ignorant can one be? You F'd up your throttle and are told several times to take it apart and then you say there is a crack, yet WTF. By all means plow yourself into a ditch with this stupidity but you are likely to take out an innocent person.
Seriously, with this mindset you do not belong on a bike.

Don't use lube between your throttle tube and bar just make sure it's clean unless you plan on removing it often to remove the dirt/debris that's collected, especially on a dirtbike.

cool i am taking it off and cleaning it this week before i ride.

A new throttle tube is like $7 on ebay. Do yourself a favour and order one. Next time just take it off and save yourself the headache of all this. *facepalm*

Now I'm curious, how did your bike leave the factory with too long of a throttle tube? And how did you determine that it was too long?

I will love to hear the explanation as well.

I did mine because I was changing to 1/5 turn throttle but I don't see any other reason to even touch it unless is to adjust it... never cut

Maybe you are right but then again maybe you are once again WRONG. I did read everything.
Clearly you can see the responses below are questioning your logic and repair skills as well as your basic ability of following directions.

But since it makes you feel better calling me a moron, then go right ahead old sport as it is better than you in a ditch or worse injuring innocent people.

Now don't be a moron like me and answer the questions.
Why were you cutting the tube?
