OPP to target dangerous drivers on long weekend

I also took note of that statement. who doesn't hold on with one hand now and then especially after a long ride.

People who don't ride motorcycle, or even bicycles, don't understand the physics involved in how easy it is to drive in a straight line with just one hand while in motion.
I do it often once I am going the speed of traffic and my arms or back need to be in a different position for a few minutes. It really helps for long trips.

I do it too, didn't know it was illegal...but I can see how cops can deem it unsafe and give me a stunting charge. One more reason for me to switch back to standard bikes I suppose, less fatigue!

I've done it a few times and sometimes in front of cops and I haven't been pulled over. I can't see how you would get a stunt charge, seeing as how if you use hand signals you'd be riding with one hand on the bar anyways.
Maybe I'm wrong.

What the eff is wrong with riding with one hand? I drive with my leg crossed and two fingers. Accident free for 6+ years.

As retarded as most cops are, you would have to find the most retarded cop in the province to the charged with riding with 1 hand on your bars.

will people who drive with one hand on the steering wheel also be getting stunting charges?

with the bragging rights they take for giving out stunting tickets....

it's like giving parking or speeding tickets to a hearse (if you ever own a hearse always make sure it's legally parked.

I was going on the Gardener in my car in the 100 kmph zone and just as I noticed a cop I looked at my digital speedometer and it read 118 kmph. My friend who warned me also saw the speedometer reading 118.

I braked but the cop pulled me over. He came over and told me that I was doing 142 kmph. He told me not to argue as he can't stand on the side of the road as it's dangerous. He handed me the ticket saying 142 and left.

It is an outrageous lie that I was doing 142. I can't believe that they can lie like that.

that is why i drive/ride with my gps logging on.

You should be riding the roads in a safe manner anyways. Long weekend or not. Public roads are not for track use.

I personally do, but I don't think everyone on here does. Hence, the reminder...

Knowing it was the long weekend I was cruising along in the left lane at just 10 km/h over the speed limit of 50 on the Transcanada highway. Than a car blew by me in far right lane and the big black pick-up truck in middle lane changed lane to follow the car. Thought he was just tailing the speedster so I decide to change lanes to tail these 2 speedster but luckily the pickup truck lit it's cherry on. lol.

yeah I know the feeling. I got nabbed doing 90+ in a 60 zone going around a curve. I briefly looked at my speedo which said about 70 but otherwise my speedo is 10km/h optimistic so doing 90+ would have to be 100+ km/h on my speedo which I've never hit on city roads. All other speeding tickets I got officer showed me the radar but this one he didn't.

The only cop I saw this weekend was at a convenience store enjoying her ice cream.

I've also had cops lie about the speed I was going when giving me a ticket. But I've also had one drop a ticket from 34 over to 1 over so I guess I can't complain too much.

How exactly do you fight a case if the cop bullshits about your speed?

142 is more than 50 over on the gardener - the limit there is 90. You should have been booked for stunt driving?

The HTA was not always in place. I think it's been 4 years?
