Motocross style open face???are they street legal? - With DOT, and worn with goggles

On a really hot day I will just wear my MX helmet. Much higher airflow than a street helmet without sacrificing protection.
To each their own but I will have never and will never wear an open face helmet due to safety reasons. I have landed on the chinbar of my MX helmet before and was thankful it was there. I have also seen a few street lids rashed all up the front that saved the rider's face.
I agree with you. Even if I had a convertible it would only be to open the full front when stopped to talk, take a drink, etc. I'd never risk my face riding with it not in full-face mode. And I don't even like my face that much!I find it amusing that everyone who is interested in the open face or convertibles, talks about putting a full face on for highway or longer trip use but open for "around town"........the chances of you needing the added safety provided by a full face or closed position on the convertible is much much higher at low speeds in the city where by far and away the majority of motorcycle collisions occur. Just saying.
They all pass the same tests.
