That looks like a casting imperfection, not the coating. Nothing you can do about that unless you grind it down smooth and paint over.

Hey, at least your gas tank isn't imploding!
Enjoy every day on it.And if someone at Timmies brings the flaw to your attention, get on and ride.Welcome to the club fellow Ducatista.
If it's a casting imperfection I wouldn't sweat it ... if it had been paint bubbles I'd be worried about something going on underneath there, like rusting. Hey, at least your gas tank isn't imploding!
Update: Went to dealer and noticed they all have the same issue... Odd.. Makes me sleep better at night knowing I'm not the only one.
ahahaha too funny. I would't worry about it. Keep an eye on it. You still have two years warranty. If it gets worse at least you have it documented now.
The gas tank issue is still not solved, what a joke. They will replace tank under warranty but its the same faulty tank.
Just use ethanol free gas ie Shell 91 and you should be ok
Thats why I bought a naked bike so I can enjoy the engine![]()
Not all 91 octane is ethanol free. From what I know just shell and a few petro canadas
