Hi guys,

Picked up '13 monster 796 and discovered after delivery that there is a few bubbles on engine casing. Bike has 0 km, do i have any chance for an exchange? Id hate to go through warranty hassles on a brand new bike. Disappointed, wish i noticed this before... Unfortunately bike was sitting between bikes.

Thanks

Will take tomorrow, not near the bike now. Basically few average sized bubbles scattered...

As in bubbles in the paint? If so I'd definitely document and take it back. If they won't, then talk to Ducati for sure.

You mean in the coating? Had the same on my 696 where a couple of the bolt recesses are, eventually it flaked off. Got my bike used and out of warranty though so couldn't really do anything about it.

Edit: I should also mention that the coating, bubbled or not, isn't very durable to begin with. GP Bikes damaged mine on an oil change between the engine case and the filter.

Id just ride it. Its gonna get scratched/dinged if you use it so why even bother.

Thanks guys. Considering I paid 14k out the door I will contact dealer in regards to this... Bothers me too much...the bubbles are under the gray paint around casing near filter...

It's a brand new bike.

IMO it should be perfect. I'd take it to the dealer.

Please post pics though so we can see how bad it really is.

Sorry to hear... Guess you are right.. It will eventually happen..

Update: Went to dealer and noticed they all have the same issue... Odd.. Makes me sleep better at night knowing I'm not the only one.

Enjoy every day on it.And if someone at Timmies brings the flaw to your attention, get on and ride.Welcome to the club fellow Ducatista.
