My first long trip - Riding to NYC

Who says a Ninja 250r can't handle the highway? Cruised at 145-150 easily the entire way here with no problems! Riding in Manhattan is just...wow.
I'll take the clueless asian women of Toronto ANY day. Not only are you dodging cars, but the roads are HORRIBLE. 5-6 inch deep potholes are normal.

That's not a throttle lock, merely a helper.

Try a Go Cruise throttle lock instead. Should be readily available from most bike shops.

Congrats on the successful journey! How long did it take you? 6/7hrs at those speeds? Did you take many breaks? I assume you took the interstate instead of the direct journey?

I left my house at 9 am, and arrived in Queens, New York at 7:30. That's 10.5 hours.. But I did take many breaks. I wanted to avoid fatigue so I made a rule: Stop and walk around/grab coffee every 200 kms, be off the bike for 20-30 mins or so..regardless of wether or not I was tired.
I was on the i90 for a while then hit the back roads for a bit by accident. The GPS went crazy on me and sent me into smaller towns..which was an awesome experience.
Once I got to queens I wasn't tired at all! Literally felt like I had gone for a 3-4 hour ride. I bought a throttle rocker which helped greatly

Thanks for the pics man, very interesting! So that little 250 cruised all the way to NYC @ 145 km/h and came back and is still kicking? I must underestimate bikes. How long were you in NYC for? I have always dreamed of taking a bike ride to Virginia but I need a week off work to make it worthwhile.

The road in the last pic... wow what a great road to ride in!

Yea it did the trip just fine. I'm actually typing this from Queens, gonna leave Sunday morning for Toronto, 9 am lecture on Monday :( Trip has been awesome..still a bit paranoid about the bike..its not in an indoor garage, but behind a house hidden away on private property. Oh well at least its insured lol. People really underestimate these 250r's.. they can take a lot and keep kicking
