As far as I can tell these "likely" problems mainly affected a few early models back in 2015 or so, and we're sorted out quickly.

For 2018 they brought out the second generation 2.7 with many improvements including even greater reliability and efficiency

I still stand by my words that this is a sweet powerplant and will do well in the Bronco

I was alluding to the German engineering in it. Looks like I am right already.

A Jeep ! ? to pull three and a half tons of truck out of the mud :ROFLMAO: you might as well try pulling some 30 foot tall maple trees out of the ground while you are at it.

Had a couple of buddies way back in the day, one had a modified Jeep with a V-8, the other had an old Toyota Land Cruiser with a straight 6. They had a tug of war, guess which one got towed backwards all around the sand pit right from the get go.

Depends on the driver I suppose.

I've personally seen a 2dr Rubicon pull an F250 lifted 6" and on 42's that was buried up to the top of the wheel wells in mud out of a bog.

normally I'm sceptical of German anything, they seem to always over complicate things. Whether it comes to cars or vacuums.

BUT.... one thing the Germans know how to do and do well is a motor. BMW and M-B (F1) are excellent examples.

BTW, the Ford 2.7 was on Ward's list of 10 best engines...

My CJ7 with the 304-V8 may have gotten worse mileage that our Cletrac 6L 6cyl bulldozer, but it had quadritrac so my girlfriend could drive me home. Jeep has had some good/awful engineering, lets see others learn from those bad choices. Bring on the Bronco

Sure on paper they are awesome, but without reliability it's no engineering feat. Ok, mistakes are made but the way they try to weasel out of fixing their mistakes is deplorable. Most if not all major Audi engine recalls required a lawsuit in the US. Then they tried denying them in Canada. Dunno for sure about BMW and MB, but from what I read they have the same attitude. I almost got a OM642 MB, and wow it's like they engineered that engine to have issues. German auto makers are all warranty weasles. I had a major issue with frame corrosion in my daughter's Jetta -- it took 6 months to book an appointment to get the failed area inspected, then they tried to tell her she should have brought the car in sooner. They scheduled to repair the car 9 months from now.

If you brought it in sooner they would have denied it because they only cover perforations.

Tough with chains and regular tow straps.. quite a possibility with one of those yankum elasticy ropes.
