Mouse vs. husky - graphic pic *warning*

I was working upstairs and I all hear is a lot of noise from downstairs with the husky running. Came down and lights were off and the husky looked excited. Turned on lights and found a dead mouse.

I'm just surprised she did it in the dark. Equally surprised that she didn't eat it. Do dogs eat mice?

Atleast we won't have any pest control issues.
 
My jack russell eats them some times....
That said, my buddy's dog ate a mouse, got sick and died 3 days later... figure the mouse had been poisoned.
 
Is this what society has become, needing a graphic pic warning for a picture of a dead mouse??? Really???
 
my guess is that the mouse was already dead and the husky got freaked out by it.

Most of the time, they do not eat them.

I had some German Shepherds who would hunt them down, with team-work. Its kinda fun to watch, seeing one flush him out and the other waiting for the kill.

I hate them touching dirty rodents, they might carry diseases. Since we fed them outside, the rodents were attracted to their food & at they end up paying the ultimate prize.

I shouted at them for hunting them, so instead of barking, they keep quite. All you can hear is crap being banged up & I know what they're up to.

Looks better than pretty much anything my dog used to get hold of.

He used to dig up moles, toss them in the air, and down his throat. Didn't chew them at all. It was strange.
 
Some breeds of dog were specialized in rodent killing/removal.

thats how my shepherd hunts mice in winter in the back yard only he isn't as successful.

Some animals have a natural flora of bacteria in their mouth. Bad for their victims so when they get bitten they easily become infected & die
