Any one subscribed to any magazines? If so which one and would you recommend it? I need something to read while on my down time.
Oh and do any of you know where I can get a copy of Cycle World December issue? Any store have them in stock?

"Bike" and "Performance Bike" are both excellent reads out of the UK but they'll cost you. I haven't seen any on this side of the pond that I'd subsrcribe to.

I subscribe to CycleWorld and I have Dec '12 still...

Practical Sportbikes is a really good magazine from the UK. Focus is 70's, 80's and 90's sportbikes with lots of projects. It's usually $12 at Chapters.

+1 for Performance Bikes. I just recently let my subscription lapse....48 pounds for the year.

+1 (I have some as well but forgot the name when writing my first post). Great mag if your interests are pre-2000. Lots of good 2-stroke info in there as well.

I used to read SSB. I ain't ashamed to say that. A big part of the bike scene for me is personalzation. I like to see what ppl do with their bikes and what builds some out.

Of course, there's the body of the scene that will just distance themselves from these types of mags cuz they're not 'purist' or 'performance' based material. BUt it depends on what floats your boat.

I believe I owe the library $200 from a vhs tape I apparently didn't return in the 90's. I don't know if I'm still in their system but I wouldn't want to risk it lol. The interest alone I probably owe them in the thousands? hahaha. But I heard they wiped out their system so I may be off the hook.

I think they might have a max fine of $30 for any one item...

That said, I also really like Ride from the UK. The gear reviews were tops.

I read Classic Bike, Cafe racer, Bike (uk) and Fast (uk) and occasionally pickup Rider and CycleCanada. I really like magazines, but they get very repetitive. The BMW owners club has a really good magazine thats part of your membership and its worth joining just for the magazine even if you dont own a bmw.

I'm a fan of the UK editorial style and the writing is fun (like watching TopGear), they are serious enough but will call something goofey when they see it. Unlike the North American style where everything new is JUST AWESOME!!

I'm inpressed with the job Cycle Canada is doing bringing that publication back from the dead, last year has seen a big improvement in quality of editorial and topics.
