Motorcycle License: possible to get in Ontario, when living in BC?

Ok, so I have a friend visiting me from BC for a couple weeks. She has a BC driver's license. She is interested in taking the M1 test here in Ontario, and then taking the M2 riding course from RTI. At the end of this, she will have a M2 license from Ontario. Then she will go back to BC, and then transfer that M2 license into the BC equivalent.

Is this possible? She does not want to transfer her BC driver's license (for cars) into an Ontario one, and then have to switch it back. Can she just tackle the motorcycle portion, without affecting the driver's license? Basically, she will be getting an Ontario motorcycle license, while living in BC with a BC driver's license.

Thanks for any help! Been on hold with MTO for 20 minutes and still not getting through.
 
Why not get her motorcycle license in BC? why complicate things if she's only here a couple weeks?

Cause the OP wants to get some?! Why else do men overcomplicate things! LoL OP - I'm sure the license transfers between the provinces but not sure how it works exactly.
 
Don't they only have 2** levels of a drivers license class? Learner's license and Full?

why not call the MOT for each respective province and figure it out? they'll probably give you better advice than GTAM.

Take about 5-10 mins to call to get the right information.
GTAM, It'll take about a day and a lot of sifting through junk.
 
To the OP, it's a lot easier as a current G license holder to get a full motorcycle license in BC than it is here.
Action Riding School is fantastic if she needs a recommendation on a school out there.
 
If she's just visiting, I don't believe any of this is necessary. She needs permanent residence to get licensed in Ontario - otherwise she can just user her existing license (for whatever class it specifies).

Imaging road-tripping across Canada and having to get licensed in each province...

I ended up talking to the MTO after 30 minutes on hold. Basically, you can only be licensed in one province at a time in Canada. Therefore, she cannot get a M1/M2, while keeping her BC driver's license. She would need to switch her driver's license over before she can get the M1/M2.

The reason she was considering doing this was because she's here for a couple weeks and had some free time = why not do something productive with it.
