Wait till she figures out how much tax California wants for all that.

I cant believe how thin Drew has become!

Outside of that what is the % that she needs to pay for the prizes??

Doesn't the base model start at $168K up here? As much as I like the car it would break my heart to own it and not be able to open the throttle.

I still remember when they had a Viper on the show but the contestant failed to win it

After looking it up, she was probably asked to pay $20-25K in taxes on that on the spot. Sucks, but it seems more than likely she would have declined it for that reason

How many packs does she smoke a day?

Pay it, then sell the car at a reduced price and still make a tidy profit.

exactly

even if you don't have the money, and have to go through a high interest loan, you will still be ahead.

When I say on the spot, the IRS guy is right there

I was in the Cambridge Center Mall boxing day.. there was a car in the aisle with ballot boxes surrounding it.. and signs that say "Win this Car!" or second prize a trip to Collingwood, Jamaica, Grand Caymen, and another destination.
I could NOT find a sponsor anywhere... no where did it say,, the mall was putting on the raffle, or give away, or a car dealer, or a store,,, so I grabbed a ballot.... while I was there, the 8 ballot boxes were lined up 2 deep to fill in the ballot entry form.... one entry per household, only fully completed entries will be eligible, First Name, Last Name, Home phone, Cell Phone, email address, marital status, #people living in household, #adults, #children, do you own or rent your home, Household income, age, gender,
then it says .. by filling out you agree to terms and conditions of privacy policy avail at booth and back of form..

The fine print it tooooo much to type.. but it says they won't sell your info, but you allow them to give your info to the sponsor, and their affiliates,, and you will allow all methods of contacting you in the future for other offers.... and includes removing you from any do not call lists you might be on so they can contact you with other offers..

WOW...
then it goes on to say , if you win the prize.. you will have to pay the money owing to revenue canada, and all charges by the dealer

so, the window sticker price of the car is $32.000 ,, I figure the winner has to pay about $5000 to $6000 to "WIN" this car..... and put up with telemarketers ...

Is the private info on this ballot actually worth the costs involved to gather it?? Wow... I was tempted to go to the mall office and inquire what "company" name has registered the booth to give away the prizes.. but I figure it is probably an offshore numbered company or something untraceable anyway..

makes me shake my head soooo many people were giving away their private information!

LOL, yup! :-)

“Data collection on customers is not something new,” Ms. Lee says. “If you think about loyalty programs, that’s all analyzing customer behaviour and their purchases. Where I think technology is taking us is that now retailers want to track you before you buy anything.”

This year, an irate man from Minnaepolis rang retailer Target to complain about an advertising campaign in which his daughter was recieving coupons for baby clothes, cribs and other items. In fury, he demanded to know why the firm was sending his daughter -- still in high school -- these kinds of promotions.
After verifying that the student had recieved baby-related offers, the manager apologized, and then rang back a few days later. Somewhat abashed, the father apologized, as it turned out his teenage daughter was due later in the year.

But how did Target know the girl was pregnant before her father did?
