I don't know man, I would dread the day when I suddenly like cruisers rather than sportbikes...Cruisers? I wouldn't be caught dead in one of them, that's a sign of old age.
Shouldn't you be testing your bike on an off-ramp somewhere?
why not a sport touring?? you get the best of both, and the new Ninja 1000 looks badass..
If you want to be able to keep up with your current SS riding group I would suggest a Bandit or FZ1. A Bandit 1250 with the stock Givi paniers is a great value and the bike is bullet proof. However, it's pretty heavy and if you ride it hard you'll be chewing up tires quickly. Be careful, some cruisers are uncomfortable too, just in a different way.

If your wallet can't handle a beamer, I would recommend looking at the GSX 1250.

I rode it at the Brampton Powersports Suzuki demo day and it was awesome to accelerate fast and carve corners with, while still being extremely comfortable.
