Apologies in advance for bringing up a controversial celebrity.

Does anybody remember reading an article specifically about Ted Rose, and where it was published? I think it was at least six years ago. I thought it was in the Wheels section of the Star, but I can't find anything. Maybe in was in a Canadian biker mag... any clues?

I don't recall any such article, but I'd be interested in reading it. The Toronto Star does not keep old versions of their news. Ted is certainly a character and I like his style. I'll search. If you find it pls post.

Was the article published when he won mechanic of the year at the bike show?
That was only a few years ago.

No matter what. Ted will make me laugh every time I go for a tire change.

Politically correctness takes a hike when you cross that sidewalk into his shop.

I should ask him all my life questions. Questions about politics, sexuality, feminism, God, the purpose of life, etc.

I think I would get a good laugh

This. Even tasteless sexual jokes, insulting his wife and daughters, in front of complete strangers aren't off limits. After John passed away there wasn't a reason to go back.

I think it was before that, but I could be wrong. In case I am, which year did he get that award?

Who is John?

I did a deep Google search and came up empty. Searched general, news and searched archive.org. Nothing. Can someone else try?
John worked on the bench beside Ted for many years. He often did lots of the bigger stuff that Ted didn't want to do, so Ted could focus on the faster, money making stuff like oil, tire changes and fart jokes.

First time I called Ted's shop, I asked how much for an oil change, he replied $30 and a hand job

"If i was educated, I'd be a damn fool"

How was the handjob?

I think you got it wrong. You need to pay Ted 30 bucks and give him a hand job.
You don't receive a hand job. You gotta give one.

Do you mean Dave Stewart? He was the dude who worked next to Ted and did the longer/bigger jobs. He died after a battle with colon cancer less than 2 years ago. He was on this site as "Stewart" he was always good to me and gave me lots of useful motorcycle advice.
