I recently was in PA, I stayed in St Marys.

Look into route 666, 280, 341, 949, 555, 872, Steam Mill Road and basically any road that goes through one of the state parks in the area.

When I stayed there I stayed at the Kettle Creek Inn on Hwy 120 - cheap, not fancy but clean enough. BUT it is very popular with the fishermen in the area so without reservations you might be stuck. Lock Haven has a Best Western and a couple of smaller hotels, but I haven't stayed there. If you want to consider camping, there are tons of State parks in the area. Hwy 120 from St. Mary's to Lock Haven is a blast - but the signs about falling rocks are not idle warnings - every time I've been down there I've had to thread the needle through rock piles on the cliff side of the road. The speed limit is 55 - the locals run it at 70 plus though last week I actually saw a State Trooper on that road for the first time. Last weekend I camped outside of Wellsboro which is off Highway 6 - slightly north - but 144 from Galeton to Renovo is a blast. Or you can zig instead of zag and veer off 144 to 44 which runs to Coudersport. The northern part of the highway is rough in patches, but the southern section has been newly paved. Also off of 120 you can take the road to Hyner View - just east of Renovo - clearly marked. The view of great and the road is fun, but beware of oncoming traffic - I don't think two cars could fit through at the same time. Really, just pick turn onto any roads that look interesting.

Still organizing but so far Jay and I will head down Friday and most likely base out of Courdersport. Bandit et al look to come down early Saturday.

Sunday ride I'd like to do this

Would not mind doing all of 144 this time as always ran out of time to do the southern portion.

come down 44 from Coudersport - pick up 144 and this time go past Renovo to the end
apparently the riding is very good south of Renovo which I've never been
then back up to Coudersport via something to the west
That should be one day of good riding.

Suggestions for the return route to the west up to Coutersport appreciated.
Coutersport is right near Roulette top left of the map.

Where are you staying in Coudersport? We usually stay at the Laurelwood. Will be there Saturday of the long weekend.

Hey Macdoc got the rooms booked for the three nights at pauls citgo,I will be heading out 3-4pm on friday. So friday it will be a quick dinner a few brewskies and a good nights sleep and sat twisty time and Taximan62 would be great to hook up down there the more the merrier.

I'm booked as well - just waiting on Jay but I will be there regardless.

Don't let that deter you guys. 90% chance of rain for 5 days in june when we were there and guess what? saw 15 min on the 400 comin ghome!!! Enjoy hope the weather holds out!!!!

weatherman could barely get the forecast right for the next day never mind a week. How stupid is that forecast rain and sun almost everyday probably got some monkey in a back room spinning a weather predicting dial.

Just means that it's unsettled weather system instead of a stationary high which has caused the drought.
So each day Tstorms are likely to brew up in the afternoon.

Oil changed, tire pressure monitor installed, tires up to snuff and brakes adjusted and checked. Tried out a new iPhone app tonight for heading down - pretty decent.
Nice integration of music with the NAV function and it downloads the maps.
Works sweet with the Scala - tunes and set and forget Nav.

Plugging in a few of the nicer roads - have look riders and choose some.
We might be able to do 555 on the loop on Sunday.

The Wykoff Run Road - a little taste
I think we can work that in as well on the return loop from 144 but we gotta leave early Sunday to catch both.

Some ideas here
