In a lot of US videos of police interactions the profanity from the police is 180 degrees from deescalation. "GET OUT OF THE F****** CAR."Like many interactions, police hugely escalate without justification and then kill people because the police are afraid for their lives. LE training is appalling.
Three degree camera angles would help establish actual risk to the ICE agent. From my point of view it wasn't a big deal.I've heard reports that the woman and her passenger were "Neighbourhood Observers", who were actively tracking the actions of ICE. Given the latest spate of rush hiring and how they can't seem to abide any objections in general, this sort of outcome is inevitable. The officer who fired placed himself in the way of the SUV, thereby creating a situation in which he "had to fire." Sounds like murder to me.
Full presidential pardon probably already written. Some more light to the story
A witness told KARE 11 that the victim was trying to flee from ICE agents when she was shot dead.
Hundreds of ICE agents, Minneapolis police officers and neighbors flocked to the corner of 34th Street and Portland Avenue near Powderhorn Park as the morning progressed.
A burgundy SUV was visible at the scene with a bullet hole through the driver's side windshield. The SUV then smashed into a light pole, with what appeared to be two damaged cars parked nearby.
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin issued the following statement:
"ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them."
"An ICE officer fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow officers and the lives of the public, fired defensive shots, used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. Thankfully, the ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries."
And what noble honourable person appoints the head of the RCMP?Really you can't make this BS up
Fox news was reporting that the officer had previously been dragged by a car back in April.Three degree camera angles would help establish actual risk to the ICE agent. From my point of view it wasn't a big deal.
The threatened officer could claim he was moving out of a potential crossfire situation. (Which would be an admission of an intent to kill without identifying a victim)
From the driver's point of view:
An armed masked person from an association known for violating personal rights was approaching me in anger, cursing and showing the threat of lethal force.
In Canada, generally speaking, we are to retreat to a safer place. If a second assailant blocks that path what would he expect?
Cop jumps out of big metal cage and moves their unprotected meatbag directly in front of a car. Car moves and they assassinate driver. Cop is almost 100% at fault. Almost every other option was safer for everybody.Fox news was reporting that the officer had previously been dragged by a car back in April.
Ya i know, Fox news....
My perspective dude was extremely trigger happy, however i am fully aware and so should the majority of the American public be, that any movement in a vehicle towards a law officer isn't going to end well, and in this case turns out to be fatal.

Christie Noem is a d-bag.Noem and Trump's response were predictably nuts.
Tactical Barbie.Christie Noem is a d-bag.
That`s pretty much it. Cop or not, why would you run in front of a vehicle in a highly charged and volatile scene? This should serve as a future training tool. The woman driver screwed up, probably fully amped up and in fear/panic, not a situation someone ever faces. How do you call this?.... a couple really poor decisions that intersected terribly.Cop jumps out of big metal cage and moves their unprotected meatbag directly in front of a car. Almost 100% fault goes to police. They created the situation, they escalated the situation. The driver gets a small amount of blame as if she stopped, she probably (but not certainly) would not have been shot. LE just has to say they feared for their safety to get a free pass. Until that phrase becomes a career-ending move, it will be used in every investigation. How do you call this?.... a couple really poor decisions that intersected terribly.
The ICE attitude towards anyone that doesn't wear a MAGA hat seems rough. I don't know what the hiring screening is like but assume it's got a roid rage / intimidation component. That`s pretty much it. Here as well. A coworker's cousin was IMO murdered in the Kingston area a number of decades ago.Almost 100% fault goes to police. They created the situation, they escalated the situation.
