A motorcycle driver was thrown into an SUV windshield in a collision Friday evening.

The 31-year-old Kitchener man was rushed to Grand River Hospital, and later airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital with critical injuries.

The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. at Ebycrest Road and Bridge Street in Woolwich.

The motorcycle was travelling eastbound on Ebycrest Road when it struck a small SUV head-on that was attempting to turn left onto Bridge Street.

The impact threw the driver into the windshield before he hit the ground.

The 20-year-old driver of the SUV wasn’t hurt.

Police said alcohol and speed were not factors, and the crash is still under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Services at 519-653-7700 ext. 8759.
