Actually I do feel a bit 'un' capable, asked if anyone was in the west end of toronto in a thread i think but didn't get a pm, got a pm with one person who said they could help me but not tonight and all my bike friends are out of town.
I think I can tell if something obvious has been done to the bike, drops, damage, tires, etc. but I won't be able to tell any major things like suspension problems, brakes, exaust, internal, internal mods, bike tweaking, etc. if that makes sense.
Being a beginner I don't want to ask to test ride because if I drop it I think hell is going to break loose...not only that I don't know the bike so stuff like the controls will be new to me (obviously its not completely different but some stuff like headlights, turn signals, choke) and minor stuff might throw me off on a run around the block.
Don't think i'd go as far as hiring someone to come with me but I was going to give anyone who came along $100
The guy knocked the price down a lot already and he sounds like a stand up guy don't want to rape the price but if I find something wrong I'll definitely renegotiate the price.
