iPad

B needs a new ipad for her bday. I know nothing about them. Help.

What do you want to do on it? I've had every type, Air, normal and two different Pro sizes.

With some limitations a Pro can do quite a bit of what a laptop can do but it’s pricey. I can edit RAW photos on it for example using Adobe software among other things.

She shops, games and messages.

I’m a basic level tablet guy. Meaning, it’s used for replying to forum posts, watching YouTube or Prime and other things like banking or shopping. I have a bunch of photos that I have on it as well.

Otherwise, that is the extent of its use. I have an iPad. It’s not a pro with a lot of features and does the job I want and don’t seem to need anything else.

Not sure about gaming 🤷‍♂️

Best Buy for open box options or Costco for previous Gen but, new. Apple doesn’t really do great discounts or promos.

The only reason I’m still with Apple is linked to my Apple phone and can FaceTime and receive texts and calls on my tablet.

Just in case it matters…the regular iPad doesn’t have a gps chip in it. If you get the cellular enabled one it does and you can add a sim and an add on to your cell plan to run the iPad over cellular data. You can also use the gps chip without a sim in it too. A regular iPad can hot spot to your cellphone and use data and gps location that way though but your cell phone will go through battery power much more quickly doing this.

Yep. 11” is a decent size.

I have an iPad mini4 from 2016
I originally purchased it to replace my mac laptop but is to small for much web surfing.
Just can't beat my 32inch desktop.
I use it mostly to run MapsMe as a navigation device and has been on 4 different bikes with total use of over 50,000 km
I also use it as an ebook. It orinally had a SIM card but I found no use for it as I use Wifi rather than Data.
My Data charges on my iPhone is usually under $3.00 a month on a pay as you go plan.
As with any portable electronic devise bigger and faster is better.
Just like Motorcycles!
