I also did a thing!

CONGRATS! This bike in this colourway is a dream for me. Enjoy the bike.

Never rode one, but recently rode a GS1200 for a few days and am impressed by how comfortable it is - like 8 hours per day on it. Wondering how that compares to this.
Thanks! Hopefully I can find out, if we get some bit warmer weather I can do a longer ride to see how it all works.

Prepare for your package to be pushed up into the tank. constantly adjusting with the stock seat. hey but luck for you Honda sell an OEM short seat that fixes that problem

I love that Honda colour scheme. Stretch the legs a little this way and you can take a cactus paddle back from the garden.
I have to agree, the colour scheme is something else. Not a big fan of the AT, but I find your bike really good looking

Wow! Nice bike, Mr. Burns! 👍 Did you wash the V-Strom before the trade in? 😅

I reached out to GP bikes as well, but honestly they kept asking me a bunch of dumb questions, so I didn't bother.
Dumb questions? Such as?

I installed one on my Ktm 1090 and it wasn't that hard to be honest. I'm sure there's a youtube for it.
Yep, installing the center stand on my Guzzi wasn't too difficult, either. A ratchet strap made quick work of the springs.

Just like centerstands are more technique** than muscle springs are usually the same. Sometimes you can bend them and slip washers between the coils to keep them expanded. Just one of many methods.

** Pulled up at a bike show and some kid, much bigger than I, was struggling to get his bike (Goldwing I think) on the stand as he explains to GF it's quite heavy. I explained to him that you don't lift the bike so much as you push down on the stand. I popped it right up for him.

Congrats, they're great bikes. Regarding the center stand: google the penny trick. I used this method to install the springs on my BMW S1000XR center stand and it works great.

Thanks Jayell.

Lol. I knew this would come up.
I did, it took me a week. 🤦‍♂️ Also used Mothers Back to Black and bartenders friend, magical stuff.

I have a better technique now to apply chain lube. Plus Honda recommends oiling it every 1000k so I don't have to apply it like crazy.

That's what I was referring too but either washers or pennies will work.
@sburns has an HD taken apart in the garage.
Probably has more washers readily available then pennies.
😂

I'd check out the various bike specific forums for AT info, accessories and reviews, maintenance etc........

Some probably great, others useless, you'll have to figure out which one works best for you.

I know nothing about this one, but it popped up on a google search.............. https://www.africatwinforum.com/

I'm late to the party, but congrats on the new bike! The colour scheme is nuce. Can't wait to see it at the next burgerRRRR.

Lots!
Better suspension, cruise control, heated grips, some wind protection, moar power, and styling. (y)

Gotta get the stand to lift up rear wheel for maintenance.
shoulda got the DCT mayne! If you got the non base model, you're close enough in the price, might as well, it is AMAZING in urban enviornments and completely foolproof.

You can always go manual mode anytime you want more shifting control

Nah, I think you know manual mode isn't exactly like a clutch, I'm sure it works great, but you can't feather it. I'm not ready to let that go.
I've never found the clutch to be hard in city rides at slow speeds etc.. more the heat when not moving.

If I was to get into adv riding, this would be the beast that tempts me. Nice machine. Congratulations!
