Hyosung aquila starting problems.

Hey guys,

Back In September 2013, I bought myself a used 2006 Hyosung Aquila 250cc as my first bike. After storing it for winter I opened up the garage to work on it and such, Although it would not start. The battery was freshly charged but my bike still refused to start. I took everything apart to try to figure out what the problem was but there was still no sign of a problem. I'm not sure if its just too cold for the 250cc or my carburetor has gummed up because I left the petcock on after riding.

HELP?!
 
it shouldnt be gummed up in that short a time, but it could be very well flooded if it sat with the petcock on. Does it turn over quickly like a fresh battery or is it slow turn over, and does it even cough like its trying to start or just turn over? How cold was the temperature when you were trying to start it? It should fire even below 0 , but some are hard to start cold (kawi250). I'd turn the petcock off and let it sit for a while, and pull the sparkplugs and see if they are wet with fuel. Not that it really matters but were you starting it for a ride or engine work or did you just want to play with it?
 
2006 TO 2014...8 YRS. That's way past its life for a Hyo....prob need a new motor at this point. (i'm not being sarcastic...)
 
Try new spark plugs.
 
I turned off the petcock so I'll leave the bike alone for a little. Ever since I stored the bike, Ive been having batter issues, The batter would be fully charged but wouldn't start. It would be a strong turn over at first but then it would slow down after every try until it wouldn't turn anymore. When I tried starting it.. it was maybe -10 But I also had direct power to the battery so It may not be the battery it self. I removed the mufflers to use the stand. After removing the spark plugs, I noticed that there was gunk on them but seemed to spark after I cleaned them. I was trying to start the engine to see if the battery was damaged.
The bike has 6000k on it.. Its still a new bike.
 
You may need a new battery. Their lifespan may be a small number of years. Wait for warmer temps.
 
I was trying out my battery to see if it would work because of the new battery pack I bought which wasn't working very well.
