How do we stop Ontario pension plan (opp)

Done all of the above.

My materials are all custom and need to meet standards.

Ive decreased my income by 50%

And my price has been raised.

Again. There comes a certain point where you need to balance the scale between what people can pay and what you need to make.

As for my insurances. Im insured to government MINUMUMS.

What do you do if i may ask?

I dunno about coffee, dont drink it. I usually grab juice and bagel and noticed it went up by about 15%.

You don;t like raising prices but you have no choice, otherwise you'll be working for free.

A lot of people get burned this way, i know guys who've been working for 5+years at a company and make the exact same amount of money today as they did then. In reality they're making a significant amount less, and this is the wonderful world of how inflation ****s people over.

Then you have some serious decisions to make.

Cut on the materials, insurance, your income or raise the price. Your call.

If prices go up you scare away customers. It's hard to go up on pricing. It seems simple and logical, but one of the hardest decisions to make. You always want to have make sure you have a good balance between what you charge and what consumers are willing to pay.

Then find another way to save money, unless you want to make less.

I'm a glazing contractor. Another big issue is when WSIB came into play it wqs supposed to filter out illegitimate companies. It did the exact opposite and forced more into it. .

I choose to be legit. At a huge cost.

Dunno what to tell you...but you're gonna get nowhere once you start the race to the bottom. Unfortunately not a lot of people understand this and you have to compete with them somehow.

If you move pass the employer. This is equally hard for the employees. I don't know what the government is thinking....

Peter, if you haven't already, start getting creative with accounting. There have been several rulings in the WSIB world where they have determined that they do not charge premiums on dividends earned. I know for me, the biggest pain is paying 9% for myself and my family members who work with me.... well, its a family business, and we may just start paying ourselves a much larger chunk in dividends. Still gotta talk to my accountant about all the implications but it may be worth it to save 9% on a large chunk of income. If I lower our salaries and the business makes a larger profit, it's nothing underhanded or illegal.

And those complaining about WSIB while they're in a 2% bracket..... damn, I get it, you SHOULD complain, but I can't tell you how badly I wish I could be at such a bracket. I'd gladly pay that.

Short sightegtednes of our goverment.

Purposely devaluating the canadian currency when most of our products and material to make products are imported from US.

Its supposed to help our industrial complex (which we hardly have any left)....

LOL. I saw first hand beginning of this year when the exhange rate changed the 8 to 10% increase in food packaging industry my company had to dish out to our clients. Clients with names such as Loblaws, Wal-mart, Sobeys etc.

You think those companies ate the price up? Hell no.

This province is going down the shitter quick, and the Ontario Pension Plan is just another futile attempt to dump $$ into coffers with holes in the bottom.

Something tells me we're about to see a flourishing black and undergound markets and labour.

I forget where i read it, but a study was made that no matter how much you raise taxes the amount collected stayed about the same. Raise taxes and people just consume less or turn to an underground industry. Get to greedy enough and you'll start collecting a nice tax on ZERO.

Yeah sorry to complain. I thought if you were the President/CEO of the company you didn't have to pay WSIB because you technically aren't allowed to collect WSIB. http://www.wsib.on.ca/en/community/...toid=a2a31400bc41d210VgnVCM100000469c710aRCRD

Good luck to you guys. I can't imagine 9% that's ****ed up.

Yup, underground economy is huge and growing larger. CRA would love to plug up the leaks but how can they if there's no paper trail? I bet they're going to set up a snitch line so you can rat out people getting paid under the table.

It's funny I just had someone quit because I couldn't pay them cash. I'm ****ed. All my loans and banking are with commercial banking and I can't mess around.

We have 1 out of 4 family members exempt. It still means 9% of the other 3 salaries is flushed down the toilet as well as 9% of everything we pay to previously independent contractors.

Yeah that sucks dude. You can only put so much income in the exempt person's name after WSIB you get an anal ****ing of 40% income tax.

People are stupid. Most think that money comes from some tree the boss has in his garden. Family day sounds good for the worker but to the business owner he has to pay people for that day while they are home drinking beer. In a high labour business that's about a half percent loss of productivity. If profit is 10% the day off costs about 5% drop in profit.

Workers Comp was seen as good for both the worker and the employer.

Theoretically the worker was assured of compensation for workplace injuries and the employer didn't have to worry about going bankrupt over a lawsuit.

The reality is that WSIB is a PITA for an injured worker. The big companies get breaks because they can afford lawyers and the little ones get shafted.

Ya I know, we're all on the verge of homelessness and starvation. Just imagine how much worse we'll be when we have to retire!

Wouldn't be the first time I'd asked what the hell the point of our fancy increased life expectancy is if it just means that many more years of working like a dog.

The future's here and aren't we happy!

This province is ******

Common sense? In ONTARIO? If a person works two jobs to make ends meet they pay EI on both jobs but can't collect unless they similarly get laid off from both. Oops thats a Canada issue.
