hope you're not out there riding - Hail storm

Road 800km home from Timmins yesterday. Roads were wet and rain intermitent from Gogama to Parry Sound, (400km). It rained pretty consistently the final 300 km to Kitchener. I skirted the worst of it by cutting west off of the 400 onto highway 26, (also got out of bad traffic near Barrie). I could see some pretty vicious looking clouds. Road in the rain for final 3 hours. Only really torrential for maybe 1 hour of the trip. Stayed dry in Aerostich suit and Sidi Gortex boots. No hail. Lucky.

Rode back from Mosport and got nailed on the 407. We could see the storm coming but thought we'd just miss it. Rain was really bad but the wind was stupid. I took the off ramp at Bramalea. I started in the far right lane and the damn wind pushed me into the far left. You just couldn't fight the wind it was too damn strong. Luckily the really strong winds didnt last very long. Gotta love covered gas stations.

Got nailed in the same area last year - could barely keep the bike up and I was on the shoulder and under and underpass

waited for the worst to clear - rode out and still could barely keep the bike on the road and stayed under the next over pass just below that long sweeper from 407 to 410 that's like 6 stories off the ground.

Got caught in the storm from Sauga to Toronto....first time riding in heavy rain so it was a bit of a nervous ride. Thankfully made it home safely - drenched as hell though!

future reference in cell like that just pull over and it will blow over soon enough

that was wicked bit - glad you made it okay

This why you want to pull over when an intense cell is around...
