I think so. Every bike I've owned, I broke in hard, and they've all been good examples in terms of performance. The Aprilia dealer that test rode my Tuono told me it's much stronger than the ones he has done PDI road tests on (his limited experience with the bike).

BTW, it's not so much the horsepower that you notice between the VFR and the 1050 Sprint, it's the simple ease of rolling a bit of throttle on and the Sprint smoothly accelerates away. No need to keep it in fourth gear to pass groups of cars, etc. Torque is a wonderful thing...

Good question, I also have my eye on the FZ1 as a future bike.

The FZ1 has more outright power (not much), weighs a bit less but of course has no fairings to speak of. One would presume that the FZ1 might be a little quicker. It's also a different bike to ride than the Sprint or VFR, which are more laid out like yesteryear's litre supersports. I've ridden a FZ1 and all I can say about it is that it's a really good bike... but not really the same thing. I prefer the old carb'd FZ1s, myself.

Defintely an issue with that bike for sure. The v4 is the smoothest vibration free bike i have ever owned!!! Bar none. Front wheel out of ballance? cupped tire? something was wrong there ......

Make shure you take the VFR out for a ride before you buy it.I bought a 02 VFR with abs a few years ago and only kept it a few months.
I kept reading how great the bike was so I sold a 02 ZX6 and bought the VFR.
I got a great deal on the VFR,it had a Corbin seat and 3 Givi hard bags for $4,500.I paid for it cash then when I rode it home I drove it down the street and I could not believe the vibration through the handlebars from the motor.
I have had many bikes ,nearly all were inline 4 cylinders,I was not happy with the feel of the V4,the vibration or the power.
I loved the look of the bike,the brakes and the headlights are fantastic,but the bike is heavy and low on power .The bike is heavy so its great for touring but it is not a sport bike.If you are buying this bike to keep up with your friends on there sport bikes you wont be happy.
