Help me choose, MV F4 or HP4 or 1199 Panigale R

o and take a track school like fast, more fun than u can imagine

mike

A deal i made with my spouse is.... no more tracking, no more modding, the bike is only for some weekend fun. I had a Spoon S2000 for tracks b4 married. I crashed an ITR b4 that at Shannonville. I will take some advance control course tho.

That's quite a huge jump from 250 to 1000+, especially after only 1 season of only weekends. I went from a CB450 to a Ninja zx6, and for the first couple months, it was pretty scary. The amount of instant power available is a bit overwhelming.

I would vote for the HP4. I like the look, and like you said, it sounds pretty sexy.
Must be nice having $25k to spend on a weekend toy :p.

Out of the three you mentioned the HP4 is the most bang for the buck IMO, but for my money the RSV4 is the way to go. It's the best mix of everything. V4 has power through the entire range, handles amazingly and just sticks everywhere. Add in the APRC electronics..... and, it's the cheapest. Tough to beat.

But I have to say, jumping from a 250cc to a 1000cc I dunno.... it's an unbelievable difference.

Stay safe. And maybe consider the MV 675 or the Triumph 675R. They're both special bikes that'll set you apart from the normal Jap Bike crowd, which I assume is why you short listed the three you did. They're cheaper to buy, operate and insure. On top of that they can be way more fun on the street. You can rev them out more, ride them more aggressively etc etc etc. .... I'm sure you've heard it all before. Ride as many as you can first and good luck with your purchase!

Can you tell me why?

I did consider Aprilia but someone told me they're on the verge of bankruptcy and most likely moved their production facility offshore. I do plan to keep this bike for years.

Rubbish

Jumpin' Jesus somebody call the police this guy's out of con troll.:lmao:

Go take a look. I'm quite serious.

No. The Italian economy is the @#$^ right now which led them to lay off workers for a couple of weeks, which started all kinds of rumours last October. Sales of the bikes are pretty good talking to the dealers, as their flagship bikes are getting a reputation for being great.

This is going to make inreb happy:

No, the Hypermotard is nowhere near a true Supermoto. It's over 100lbs to heavy, costs a fortune to fix if you drop it and has an engine way to big. I rode a Supermoto and have the Hyper and they are FAR apart. The only resemblance between a Hyper and a real Supermoto is it's styling. Front beak and dirt bars.

Thanks. Exactly why i'm confused because of their looks.

LOL, I'm just messing with you I know how much you like the Ape and take every opportunity to say so. It's all good. I really enjoyed Neil Grahams (Cycle Canada) write up of the naked Aprillia. I know I would love to ride a bike like that, as he describes it. I just can't allow myself to go down that road. I have a very watered down version of that type of bike, a Buell Cyclone. Makes about 1/2 power of the Aprillia but sounds like thunder. Good enough for me.

Yeah but it has torque, amirite? Torque and the seating position is what makes the big-bore nakeds fun... the supersports are just too serious sometimes and you have to go warp speed to really enjoy them as they were meant to be used. Once again I'll point out that this will be my 7th year now with my "old, heavy and slow" Tuono v-twin which has chased down more than its fair share of "faster" bikes. My buddy sold his '10 R1 in fall 2012 after I chased him all the way to unmentionable speeds and he couldn't pull more than a few feet... lol

Got room for 2? The Aprilia Buell combo's quite nice ;)

I'm hopeful that EBR will put out a super-naked. I wanted to love the KTM 1290R but between the price and how much they neutered the stock bike, I'm out. For the kind of money it takes to buy that bike and de-newbie it I can do something fairly insane to my existing bike and redo the suspension/brakes... and still hang on to $10K. I'm sure it's a great bike... but in every test so far it's lost to... well, I won't say... I'll just point out that I don't want two V4 bikes in the same garage... variety is the spice of life.

Fix the choppy low end throttle and the rear brake on that last Buell they put out and it would be great as well. Those two wouldn't have been deal-breakers for me at the time but I already had the angry Ape. That the rear brake and shock get damned near red-hot because of the exhaust routing is ridiculous.

Lucky guy. It's always a dull roar in my mind, I read all the latest magazines, online etc. I know what's out there but I'm sticking to a self imposed limit of aircooled and carbed. I know I'm fading fast. Enjoy:)

Shaman couldn't of said it better regarding the big-bore nakeds. Seating position is what they are all about. I was sold on the Hyper when it was still a prototype. Brutale, Hypermotard, Dorsoduro, MV Rivale etc. etc...everybody has their fix and style. Upright nakeds are where I'm at. But if I had to choose between the OP's 3, I would go with the BMW.

Forgot about the Rivale, which I definitely like. MV has come leaps and bounds with their electronics just recently... the Dragster apparently fuels properly. That's a first for MV in this decade. ;) The good news is that the 800 is essentially the same motor in both bikes, so that should mean that a rising tide lifts all boats at MV?

After reading about naked bikes, i look thro them all and i really like the look of MV Brutale.

Its supposed to be even lighter than the F3 which was said to be the lighest SS from reviews

So i now consider this bike as well. Anything else?

Btw i will schedule a day to visit dealers this month. Anyway particular one?
