Happy Birthday Eglinton LRT

I worked on building those tunnels…at least I’m glad it wasn’t the tunnel building as the main contributor.

Fun times on those machines. Made some good friends and memories I recall fondly to this day.

3am bbq inside the tunnel when no one’s around …

Was it St Clair that I hated?
It’s been a long while and I haven’t been back.

I guess its not really a birthday as its more of a gestation LOL

And then we question why things cost so much. It's a concrete cube. Just start again for far less money and better function. That should have been an easy cut from the wishlist.
We've demolished more important architectural sites. Historic sites in Canada, especially Ontario, equate to new subdivisions in Europe.

Yeah exactly, what the hell are the preserving, there is no historical significance to that building. I've been to that office, it's noting like the one they have in Rochester. Unless there were a lot of chemical dumping in the ground.

When is the Ai gov starting up....ffs

Apparently they say it will be running next month. (yeah sure)

I mean this is great an all, but with all the time they have burned on this, why not just wait until after winter finishes...
Either way we'll see.

Because this way they can blame it falling on its face on the extreme weather. They wont bother mentioning that it should have been designed and constructed to work in the winter nor that the failures aren't actually related to weather, it just sucks and was a boondoggle.

There is a lot of political pressure on this one in my understanding, and more importantly the vast majority of the drive is underground...meaning away from winter conditions.

As @GreyGhost correctly pointed out, it may also hide some of the issues under a blanket issue (weather) to hide any issues.

These are extremely complex systems that are being phased out, and unless everything is working together (or as close to it as possible) it becomes a horrifying exercise in trying to figure out what's to blame.
