Got rear-ended 2.0

This is exactly why other countries that actually give a damn about safety, allow motorcycles to FILTER, so jackassses don't rear end you, hope morons in Toronto, and Canada now understand the concept of filtering.

Furthermore, you always need to look back when coming to a stop sign, or traffic light, or while cruising in heavy traffic ever now and then, because your bikes side mirrors actually make you never check your blind spots or look back, they make you lazy, you have to turn your head and look back, when you do this you step on your foot brake and slow down at the same time, so as you look back you dont ram into antything ahead, become second nature after a while and you stop using your rear view mirrors, they just become an extra asset for the eye.

Avoid riding between 3pm to 6pm, rush hour.

By looking back everytime i slow down or just to make sure my back is safe, i once moved out of the way of an un marked peel region chevy tahoe cop who was not paying attention, he then slammed on his brakes, i moved on of the way and he swereved into the left turn lane, he got embarassed, threw on his sirens, and crossed a red light, and dissapeared. Fkin double standard crooks....

anyways, yes, your lucky count your good graces, most people don't even survive motorcycle crashes unless their lucky as hell.

the best thing i ever learned was when i ride, people told me, ride like everyones out to kill you, and its works everytime i head out on my bike, i pray, i wake myself up good, i eat, drink water, and stay alert, i avoid rush hours, either stay ahead of traffic or far back, i don't act like anyone owes me anything on the road, specially drivers, people drive like maniacs here.

My '05 DL650 was written off when I got rear-ended and the frame cracked. When I bought the '08, I added an Addmore lighting lightbar and the GIVI E52 topcase kit to the back of my bike. I also added a set of LED's that wrap my turnsignal bulbs so they act as running and brake lights when they're not flashing.

All the additional lighting might not help, but the back of the bike is way more visible compared to stock.

Lol, the OP just contacted me---this is my old bike, lol! I did all the mods on that bike, minus the removal of the stock signals. When I traded it in Sturgess, it had quad signals on each side----rear had the regular blinkers + the half of the stop-light, front had the sticking out signals + the pod lights I had installed. I loved that bike, lol!

OP, I'm really sorry you got rear-ended...twice. I weep for the good old Fizzer. But I'm really glad you're ok! Do what I did---give up the street!
