I got into an accident yesterday, driver made a left hand turn and im 100% no at fault. State farm wants to move the bike to a no fee storage facility and the impound wants me to leave the bike there to speed up the process or something. what would you guys recomend

Go with your insurer's recommendation. They're the ones handling the finances here.

Glad you're OK op and can write your story. As for the recommendation go with the insurer's recommended facility. They don't want to pay the lot fee, and the impound lot wants to rack up the days of storage that they will charge the insurance.

Leaving it at the impound isn't going to speed up anything. Has the driver been charged? If yes, then the investigation is done and you should move it as per your insurer's recommendation.

If state farm is paying for the storage it sure will speed up the process.

Get it out of the impound ASAP. The impound lot is just looking for insurance money

How do you figure? The vehicle is not getting repaired while it is sitting in an impound lot and it is not getting inspected to determine if it is a write-off. Not to mention it was the insurance company who are requesting that the bike be moved.

why not just have it delivered to your house ? insurance will pay for it...

The insurance company is not going to want to pay any more money for impound fee's then they have to, there fore they might put their *** in gear and process all applicable papers and investigation at a higher rate of speed than normal

I would try to be cooperative with your insurer when it doesn't make a difference to you, save the fight for something that matters... like $$$

I can see why paying for the impound lot would speed up the process, but don't assume that this will be the case (just because it's logical doesn't make it true). What I know to be true is that the impound lot is interested in collecting the storage fees from the insurance company, so they have biased opinion in the matter of giving you advice. Doesn't mean it's bad advice, but it is something to consider.

Sounds like some good advice right here.

BTW, I hope you're alright.
